The
Transport and Garage Manager will be responsible to the Registrar
(Administration, Planning & Strategy).
Duties and Responsibilities
- Controlling and coordination of transport
across the University Campuses;
- Formulating policy for operations and
development of transport and garage services:
- Advising the University Management on
transport matters and policy aspects related to specific projects;
- Carrying out overall budgeting and
control of financial requirements in the department; and
- Performing any other duties as may be
assigned from time to time.
Requirements for direct appointment
For
appointment to this position, a candidate must:-
- Be a holder of an earned Master’s degree
in Automobile Engineering with over five (3) years experience or a Higher
National Diploma in Automobile Engineering and five (5) years experience
in fleet management;
- Have thorough knowledge of usage and
application of computer programs and other technical software relevant for
fleet management; and
- Have a defensive driving certificate from
the Automobile Association (AA) of Kenya or its equivalent qualification
from a recognized institution
Requirements for Serving Officer
For
appointment to this position, an officer must;
- Be a holder of an earned Bachelor’s
degree in Automotive Engineering or Higher National Diploma in Automobile
Engineering or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
- Have served in the Grade of Transport
Officer Seale 12 for a period of at least three (3) years;
- Have a thorough knowledge of usage and
application of computer programs and other technical software’s relevant
for fleet management;
- Have a defensive driving certificate from
the Automobile Association (AA) of Kenya or its equivalent qualification
from a recognized institution;
- Have shown wide experience, outstanding
professional competence and administrative leadership in a similar level;
and
- Have shown merit and ability as reflected
in work performance and results.
NB:
For the above positions, the successful candidates prior to reporting will be
expected to meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya
by submitting documents from the relevant bodies; KRA, DCI, HELB, EACC &
CRB.
