Our client in a manufacturing company seeks to recruit a qualified individual to work as a quality control officer

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Sampling and testing of raw materials, intermediates and finished products using any associated ‘wet’ chemistry, visual and instrumental techniques as appropriate.
  • Preparing quality reports, including analytical reports (for raw materials and finished products), certificate of analysis (CoA) (for finished products) and stability reports.
  • Creating and executing method development and method validation test protocols for finished products and generating appropriate analytical methods.
  • Stability testing of products for new formulations and ongoing stability trials, using physical and instrumental techniques as appropriate.
  • Monitoring the various stages of processing to ensure quality standards are adhered to and take samples at critical production points for testing.
  • Identify and document non-conformities and deviations from quality standards and collaborate with production team to implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure all quality testing equipment is properly calibrated and maintained/serviced.

  • Provide training to production staff on quality control procedures and best practices and their importance.
  • Stay up to date with industry regulations and standards relating to fruits processing and ensure compliance with all relevant food safety and quality control regulations.
  • Report to management, FSSM team Leader or any member of food safety team any incidents that are likely to compromise food safety at the workplace

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Food Technology/ Food Science / or Microbiology or Degree in Biochemistry /Diploma in Biochemistry
  • Minimum of four (4) years of proven experience as a Quality Control Officer.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations e.g., HACCP & ISO.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and a meticulous approach to quality assurance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
