Requirements for Appointment:
For
appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:
- Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education
(KCSE) minimum grade D (Plain) or Division IV in Kenya Certificate of
Education (KCE);
- Certificate in Early Childhood
Development Education offered by KNEC /Ministry of Education or its
approved equivalent;
- Certificate in Computer Applications;
- Registered by Teachers Service Commission
(TSC); and
- Valid certificate of Good Conduct from
the DCI.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Facilitating play/learning activities to
enable children cope with primary school life;
- Identifying children with special needs;
- Ensuring safe custody of leaning
resources;
- Caring and nurturing spiritual, moral,
social, mental and physical growth of children;
- Preparing and maintaining professional
records (schemes of work, lesson plans, attendance registers and daily
programme of activities); and
- Ensuring children’s cleanliness, welfare,
health, nutrition, safety and security.

candidates will be required to produce their original identity cards, academic
and professional certificates plus other relevant documents in support of their
