Job Description:
A
laboratory receptionist is responsible for the daily administration of doctors,
staff, visitors, and patients at a healthcare facility. They schedule
appointments, answer patient enquiries and handle patient emergencies.
Responsibilities
Receive
Laboratory phone calls and forward messages.
Print
samples draw list and bar codes and hand over to phlebotomist for collection.
Receive
and acknowledge collected samples into Laboratory and then to departments.
Record
all tests ordered on the tubes and containers appropriately.
Transport
samples to various departments for analysis.
Daily
clean and organize reception work station.
Collect
data, file records and statistics as required.
Receive
supplies and reagents and verify inventories.
Retrieve
patient reports in computer or from cabinets when required.
Stock
reception work station with required supplies
Perform
any other task assigned by Lab manager or designate.
Qualifications
& Experience
Certificate
in phlebotomy course.
Certificate
and above in laboratory science.
Certificate
in Computer application.
At least
two years in a busy clinical laboratory.
Training
in GCLP, Human Tissue Act, biosecurity and biosafety is an Advantage.
