Key
Responsibilities And Tasks
- Handle
incoming bills and invoices, and prepare payments for vendors and
suppliers. Track incoming payments from clients and manage collections.
- Assist
in the preparation of financial reports such as balance sheets, income
statements, and expense reports.
- Reconcile
bank statements with the general ledger and investigate and resolve any
discrepancies.
- Assist
in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, and report
variances.
- Assist
with payroll processing and ensure all employees are paid accurately and
on time.
- Assist
with the preparation and submission of tax returns and ensure compliance
with Kenyan tax laws.
- Maintain
accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Provide
support during financial audits and implement audit recommendations.
- Monitor
cash flow and provide updates to management.
- Prepare
and send out invoices to clients, and follow up on any overdue payments.
- Assist
in the analysis of financial data and preparation of financial reports,
statements, and projections.
- Ensure
compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements.
- Use
accounting software to maintain records and prepare reports.
- Process
expense reports and reimbursements.
- Respond
to financial inquiries by gathering and interpreting data.
- Record
financial transactions and post debits (costs) and credits (income).
- Assist
in financial planning and strategy meetings.
- Keep
track of office supplies and place orders when necessary.
- Develop
and implement financial procedures and controls.
- Stay
updated with the latest financial laws and regulations in Kenya.
- Enter
financial data into the firm’s databases.
- Conduct
financial research as needed.
- Assist
in identifying and managing financial risks.
- Communicate
financial information to non-financial staff and clients.
- Assist
in making financial decisions by providing necessary financial insights
and reports
Qualification,
Experience And Knowledge
- Must
have a bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance or Accounting
- Proficiency
in Microsoft applications and packages
- Strong
analytical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent
communication and interpersonal abilities
- At
least 4 years of experience in a busy finance/accounts department in a law
firm
