of Employment: Employment is for one (1) year contract with a probation
period for the first three (3) months.
The
Women’s Health Project
The
Women’s Health Project, established in 1993, is a collaborative effort of the
University of Nairobi (UoN), the University of Washington (UW), the Kenya
Medical Research Institute (KEMRI), Mombasa County and the Fred Hutchinson
Cancer Research Center (FHCRC), and the US President’s Emergency Program for
AIDS Relief (PEPFAR).
Objectives
To
provide high quality care to at-risk and HIV-positive women participating in
the high-risk women’s cohort (Mombasa Cohort).
To
conduct innovative prevention and treatment research that will contribute
substantially to local as well as global knowledge and implementation of
effective interventions.
To
conduct clinical trials according to ICH-GCP and deliver quality services,
products and devices.
Driver
This
is the entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will
work under the guidance of a Senior Driver.
Job
purpose: To drive organization vehicles and to perform a wide variety of
office support and administrative duties in support of the administration
department.
Job
Specifications
The
duties and responsibilities at this level will entail: –
· To
drive site vehicles carefully at all times and ensure safety of the passengers
and or goods, other road users, and the assigned vehicle as authorized
· To
transport participants, staff, visitors and deliveries when required
· Carrying
out routine checks and perform thorough vehicle inspection before use
· Detecting
and report malfunctioning of vehicles system;
· Ensuring
adherence to or observations of traffic laws; and
· Shipment
of study samples to respective laboratories
· To
ensure cleanliness of site vehicles at all times
· Perform
minor maintenance of vehicles and reporting all defects and adherence to
vehicle maintenance schedule
· Recording
time and mileage logs at all times
· To
indicate the vehicle fuel and service costs
· Checking
all statutory requirements of all vehicles
· Proper
and prompt reporting of any accident or damage involving site vehicles
· To
assist in other duties in the office as assigned by the immediate supervisor
when not
undertaking driving duties
Person
Specifications
· Kenya
Certificate of Secondary Education mean grade of D+ or its equivalent
qualification from a recognized institution
· Valid
driving license free from any current endorsements and valid for any of the
classes of vehicles which the officer is required to drive; in this case
tuktuk, motorbike and other manual drive cars
· Valid
Certificate of Good Conduct from the Kenya police
· Good
spoken English and Kiswahili
· Availability
and willingness to work outside working hours if requested
· Good
