Job Description
Moko’s Head of Finance & Administration is responsible for improving and scaling critical support and control processes as we grow to serve millions of customers.  We’re looking for a seasoned finance leader with the ability to direct and grow our finance and administrative teams toward this goal.  You’ll be excited to implement improvements that cut across the business, from rebooting our chart of accounts to implementing a scalable system of processing retail transactions en masse.  You’ll be obsessed with order and efficiency, creating and improving systems to organize and streamline the work of your team as it expands.
Responsibilities
Optimize how we deploy our resources to Moko-fy the world
• Oversee the company-wide opex and capex budgeting process and ensure budget adherence across departments
• Work with operating teams to manage cash and working capital, balancing inventory, liquidity and sales needs
• Ensure a strong internal control environment – oversee and continuously improve regular internal audits and approval processes
Build a scalable accounting machine
• Ensure sound policies and practices are in place to manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, statutory payments, intercompany transactions, inventory records, bank reconciliations, asset register, and all other accounting functions
• Build and improve upon core accounting processes to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and compliance
• Work with our growing retail team to develop systems for tracking and automating customer payment transactions at scale
Financial data at our fingertips to make the best decisions
• Ensure all accounting transactions are accurately captured in a timely way
• Track and analyze key margins and unit economics, apply this knowledge to optimize financial performance across teams
• Prepare reports for senior leadership, the company’s board and investors – presenting financial information which leads to great decision-making
Manage risk and compliance across the business
• Ensure tax and company registry compliance
• Develop and manage a key business risk matrix, using it to coordinate risk mitigation across teams
• Ensure relevant insurance is in place to cover major risks

• Serve on our Senior Leadership Team, setting the organization-wide strategy and coordinating with other functional leads
• Invest in coaching and development of your team, growing their capacity and building the next generation of Moko leaders

Qualifications

• You’re a steady leader, with experience guiding teams through periods of change and a track record of motivating and developing your direct reports toward outstanding results
• You have a strong working knowledge of accounting practice, IFRS standards, and Kenya’s tax regime – including cross-border tax policy
• You’re able to quickly and independently develop and apply new technical knowledge
• You have a track record of clearly defining and implementing financial/administrative processes & systems
• You have a strong background in financial analysis and management reporting
• You’re able to strike the balance between supportive collaboration with other teams and setting reasonable controls

Job Description
Moko’s goal is to change the way people experience their everyday home. We have an ambitious development pipeline that spans mattresses to sofas with the goal of making our customers’ dream of leading a modern lifestyle a reality. We’re looking to add a Customer Care Manager (aka Head Heart Warmer) who will be responsible for managing Moko’s day to day customer care operations. You’ll be an excellent project manager who is able to juggle a variety of tasks under tight timelines. You’ll put into use your knowledge of customer care to create remarkable experiences for MoKo customers. Finally, you’ll be an excellent people manager, who can motivate and grow the team.
Responsibilities
Manage and grow a motivated team
• Coordinate and manage daily and weekly activities of the team to create a high-performing team where KPIs are always met
• Implement customer care trainings and run team meetings
• Provide 1-on-1 coaching for all team members
Measure and achieve targets for effective customer care operations and customer happiness
• Analyse customer feedback data and use the analyses to develop and run initiatives to improve customer happiness
• Track performance of customer operations metrics (e.g. response time, number of outgoing calls per day), analyse data, and develop initiatives to continuously improve the target metrics
• Track data on conversion rate, use the analysis to identify problem areas or success drivers of conversion, and implement initiatives to continuously improve conversion
Own the management and development of customer care processes
• Identify where we need to redefine or create new customer care processes to eliminate pain-points for customers.
• Develop and document new customer care processes, and train all relevant teammates to implement the new processes
• Document workflows of existing customer care processes and ensure all relevant teammates have been trained
• Continuously improve existing processes
Continuously improve systems
• With support from senior management, define and implement new systems that will enable a better customer experience
• Act as liaison to senior management to keep them up to date about customer care and customer experience
• Be the point of contact and ensure smooth coordination with other teams (e.g. operations, admin) on day-to-day work or on special projects

Moko’s Head of Operations & Supply Chain is responsible for scaling our supply chain and distribution to reach millions of customers. We’re looking for a self-driven and analytical leader with the ability to direct and grow our operations team and systems toward this goal. You’ll be excited to solve big problems like building out a local network of contract manufactured furniture suppliers and delivering smiles to thousands of customers each month.  You’ll be obsessed with order and efficiency, creating, and improving systems to organize and streamline the work of your team as it expands.
Responsibilities

• Manage and expand a network of the best suppliers in Kenya and around the world – for factory raw materials and contract manufactured furniture products.
• Define and implement quality standards and controls to ensure we receive the top-quality materials and products every time.
• Level-up our inventory management, making stock outs a thing of the past.
• Ensure a scalable, diverse supply base which delivers increasing volumes as we continue to grow.
Make WOW deliveries at scale every time
• Manage and grow our consumer and B2B distribution operations to efficiently deliver every order on time – from 800 to 7,000 home deliveries per month within the next two years.
• Make home deliveries – a major touch point with our customers – a smiley Moko experience.
• Run one of the most efficient delivery operations East Africa has ever seen – operating within cost per unit volume and cost per product targets.
Keep & secure a happy home for Moko
• Ensure strong systems and SOPs are in place for all inventory movements – every warehouse passes regular stock audits with flying colours.
• Coordinate environment, health and safety initiatives across the company, ensuring high standards are adhered to in order to achieve a safe work environment.
• Ensure strong facility management and security protocols in place throughout our warehouse and factory facilities.

• You have experience developing and implementing operational systems within an organization, and value the structure and predictability they bring.
• You have a track record of nurturing strong relationships with suppliers and internal ‘customers’.

• You possess a strong analytical toolkit and instill data-driven decision-making within your team
