Responsibilities
·
Ensure consistency in grading in
accordance with regulations.
·
Consider and determine all appeals
made to him/her under regulations.
·
Identify grading problems and
recommend remedial action.
·
Work together with Production
superintendents, veterinary office and livestock department to ensure
attainment of departmental targets
·
Participate in continuous review of
the Standard Operating Procedures and production Work Instructions
Qualifications
The ideal candidate shall possess the following:
·
Higher Diploma in Food production or
equivalent from a recognized institution
·
Certificate in meat inspection and
grading from recognized institutions
·
Five (5) years’ experience in meat
grading
·
Conversant with Grading Regulations
·
Conversant with hygiene requirements
in meat processing.
·
Satisfy the provisions of Chapter Six
of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.
·
Advanced computer skills

Quality Assurance & Research Manager
JOB GROUP KMC 3 REF: KMC/HRA/QARM/02/10/2019 (POSITION 1)
Responsibilities
·
Develop a sustainable quality
strategy in line with the business set objectives and oversee delivery against
quality assurance goals and objectives
·
Participate in formulating and
implementing strategic corporate decisions, and advise the Commission on
policies and regulations governing quality assurance and standards
·
Overall responsible for the staff in
the quality assurance department, review general quality performance at all
locations ensuring continuous improvement
·
Statistical product data analysis and
establishment of products specifications and quality standards, coordinate
products inspection and testing to ensure compliance to specifications
·
Oversee the research and development
activities and provide technical support to new product development
·
Food Safety Management System Team
Leader; Coordinate and oversee the periodic quality audits both internal and external
within the processing facilities and for suppliers of materials that have an
impact on food safety
·
Implement Food Safety System and
ensure all quality aspects are adhered to and take responsibility with respect
to Food Safety as documented in the Food Safety Management System manual.
·
Develop and maintain a working
relationship with external quality and environmental governing bodies
·
Generate quality compliance reports
and documentation, including review and implementation of work and procedures
Qualifications
·
Degree in Food Science and Technology
or its equivalent.
·
A master’s degree in the relevant
field will be an added advantage.
·
7 years’ experience in a Senior
Management position in the food processing industry.
·
Exposure in management systems related
to food processing.
·
Certificate in Senior Management
Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution as an
added advantage.

Sales & Marketing Manager
JOB GROUP KMC 3 REF: KMC/HRA/SMM/01/10/2019 (POSITION 1)
Responsibilities
·
Exploring, identifying markets and
potential customers both locally and internationally
·
Advising management on local,
national and international factors affecting buying and selling of KMC products
and services
·
Plan, develop and execute the annual
sales and marketing strategy, including identifying markets and potential
customers
·
Prepare reports and provide the same
to the Management
·
Identify, oversee and assess the
activities of external advertising, promotions and marketing research agencies
engaged to implement strategies,
·
Oversee the overall management of the
department and identify training and development needs for the staff
·
Prepare, monitor and control the
departmental budget as well as procurement plan
·
Ensure brand profitability through
correct pricing policies as well as develop an effective price strategy
·
Monitor competitor activities as well
as the performance of the Commission’s product in the market and advice
Management accordingly
·
Manage relationships and ensure
customer satisfaction through regular contact and prompt resolution of issues
·
Liaise with the internal and external
regulatory agencies on the guidelines for the production and marketing of meat
and meat products.
Qualifications
·
Bachelor’s Degree in marketing or a
relevant field from a recognized university
·
Master’s degree in the relevant field
will be an added advantage
·
Served as a senior officer in Sales
& Marketing or in a comparable position for a minimum period of seven (7)
years.
·
Possess professional course in the
relevant area
·
Be a member of the Marketing Society
of Kenya (MSK)
·
Certificate in Senior Management
