Technologist


Grade Abc, Department Of Urban And Regional Planning – AD/9/228/19 (1 POST) (CAE)
Qualifications
·         Applicants must be holders of KCSE Mean Grade C (plain) or equivalent with credits in relevant subjects and ordinary Diploma in a relevant field of specialization from a recognized learning institution.
·         They must have 3 years experience as Trainee Technologist or equivalent position.
·         They should also have knowledge of computer application including CAD and GIS, be able to demonstrate map reading and map making skills.
Responsibilities
·         The successful candidate will be expected to facilitate and assist in the delivery of planning studio classes.

Senior Technologist

Grade Def, Department Of Real Estate And Construction Management – AD/9/227/19 (2 POSTS) (CAE)
Qualifications
·         Applicants should be holders of B.Sc. degree or Higher Diploma or equivalent in Real Estate or Construction Management or Quantity Surveying or Information Technology (IT) or Building and Civil Engineering or Architectural Studies or any other relevant area of specialization from a recognized institution.
·         He/she should have at least five (5) years working experience as a Technologist Grade ABC or equivalent position in Real Estate or Construction Management or Quantity Surveying or any other relevant area of specialization.
·         In addition, the applicants should have experience in relevant softwares such as Computer Aided Design Package, Activity Scheduling Package QS/CM/RE softwares, administrative duties and other senior responsibilities.
Responsibilities
·         The successful candidate will be expected to actively participate in research activities in the department, develop materials for academic and technical instruction, supervise and organize students’ projects and studios for undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Publications Editor

Qualifications
·         Applicants should be holders of a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism/Communication or Social Sciences.
·         They should have at least two (2) years experience in publishing/editing.
·         They should also have knowledge of computer software programmes used in publishing.
·         A post-graduate training in book publishing or mass communication and/or specialized courses in areas related to publishing will be an added advantage.
Responsibilities
·         The successful candidate will be expected to identify and initiate new publication projects, acquire new manuscripts and process/supervise them through the entire process of publishing.
·         The candidate will be required to be fully conversant with website for the purpose of editing and uploading materials.
·         Specific tasks will include: setting publishing targets and standards as stipulated by the publications committee, copy editing and copy making, proof reading texts, overseeing revision of publications, liaising with authors and printers in publications of books, designing and/or advising on designs, updating and posting on website and social networks, and any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
·         Ability to produce bi-annual newsletters, quarterly policy briefs, adherance to deadlines, writing and edit web-based and social network materials will be essential.

Qualifications
·         Applicants should be holders of at least a Masters degree in public administration, human resource management or equivalent qualification;
·         CPS (K) or relevant professional qualification;
·         six (6) years administrative experience handling general administration, human resource, performance contracting or student matters, three (3) of which must have been as a Senior Administrative Assistant Grade EF in an institution of higher learning or a position of equivalent responsibility.
·         They must be computer literate and members of a recognized professional administration or management body.
·         The successful candidate will be deployed in the Administration Department.

Chief Technologist (Real Estate& Construction Management)

Qualifications
·         Applicants must have MSc or MA degree in Real Estate or Construction Management or Quantity Surveying or Building and Civil Engineering or Architectural Studies or any other relevant area of specialization plus 5 years experience at the level of Senior Technologist in an academic institution.
·         Those with B.Sc. or BA degree or Higher Diploma in Real Estate or Construction Management or Quantity Surveying or Information Technology or Building and Civil Engineering or Architectural Studies or any other relevant area of specialization plus 7 years experience as Senior Technologist in an academic institution will also be considered.
Responsibilities
·         The successful candidate will be expected to supervise technical staff, actively participate in research activities, develop materials for academic and technical instruction, supervise and organize students’ projects and studios for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
·         He/she is expected to be familiar with procurement procedures and purchasing of materials useful in providing service to teaching, laboratory and workshop equipment.
·         He/she should have leadership and managerial skills.
