Postal Officer (Coast Region) (10 Posts)


Grade: UN 10
Responsibilities
·         Undertake all postal duties pertaining to counter, delivery and dispatch of mails.
·         Issue and pay money orders, postal orders and agency services.
·         Sale stamp, acceptance and delivery of registered item.
·         Collect registered bag for openers and clearance cages and enter details on balance sheet.

·         Maintain and balance P150,P127 and P1 books
·         Responsible for opening new files , filling work and maintenance of all official files in records office
·         Deal with amendments to list of post offices and rule books as they are issued from time to time
·         Maintain an up to date record of the inventory in all offices within HPO area
·         Prepare returns for incoming services and air mails parcels and submit to the user departments
·         Perform Postmaster duties at class 3 office
·         Collection and delivery of EMS items
·         Handle registration items at registration cages
·         Weight and compute mailing cost of letters, parcels based on type, weight and destination
·         Perform other duties assigned by controlling officer.
Qualifications
·         Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KSCE)  D+ minimum and above
·         Certificate in Business Administration/Management or any other relevant disciplines
·         Proficiency in computer applications
·         Must be between 24 and 30 years
