outreach Health Services at Kisii, Kakamega, Kitale, Bungoma, Kericho,
Kibuye-Kisumu, West End- Kisumu, Busia, Homa – Bay, Kapsabet, Migori, Bomet and
Narok.
The hospital is seeking to attract
interested and qualified applicants to fill the position of:
Carpenter
Overall Responsibility: Reporting
to the Maintenance Supervisor the successful candidate will be responsible for
all aspects of the installation, maintenance, inspection, operation and repair
of carpentry installations in the main hospital and outreach centers.
Other Responsibilities
·
Perform routine maintenance of
carpentry works
·
Measures building materials and
spaces for installation accurately
·
Orders building materials as needed
·
Assembles sturdy and well-constructed
floorboards, skirting boards, window frames, doors, door linings, staircases,
fitted furniture, cabinetry, shelving, and more
·
Incorporates fixtures like door
handles and locks, cabinet handles, stairway railing, and other fixtures into
design and implementation
·
Crafts furniture with fine detail
work and/or utmost sturdiness and quality
·
Utilizes skills in other related
trades such as plumbing, roofing, bricklaying, painting, tiling, plastering,
etc.
·
Combines carpentry work with joining
work
·
Repairs and refurbishes existing
building work
Requirements
·
A minimum of Certificate in Carpentry
(Grade III)
·
2 years’ experience
·
In-depth knowledge of maintenance and
repairs of carpentry works
·
Understanding of the current
regulations within the field
·
Excellent interpersonal communication
skills on a technical level
·
Able to work both independently and
as part of a team
Plumber
Overall Responsibility: Reporting
to the Maintenance Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for
all aspects of the installation, maintenance, inspection, operation and repair
of the plumbing systems in the main hospital and outreach centers.
Other Responsibilities:
·
Perform routine maintenance of
plumbing systems
·
Respond to plumbing calls from our
general contracting team
·
Install plumbing systems in new
construction
·
Work with our Expeditor to obtain
permits for plumbing work to be performed
·
Adhere to current rules and
regulations related to plumbing so that systems pass inspection the first time
Requirements
·
Certificate in Plumbing (Grade III)
·
At least 2 years’ experience
·
Certificate in Building Construction
is an added advantage.
·

Medical Officer – Outreach Health Centres (Locum)
Reporting to the Medical Officer in Charge, the successful
candidate will be responsible for providing consultancy and quality clinical
judgment to patients in Ambulatory and Emergency Medicine.
Other Responsibilities:
·
Assessment of patient and manage the
patient case.
·
Performance of investigative and
therapeutic procedures.
·
Perform minor surgeries.
·
Re-asses and follow up patients.
Requirements
·
M.B.Ch. B or equivalent from a
recognized University.
·
More than one – year working
experience.
·
Must be Registered / Licensed by the
Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board.
·
Competency in emergency procedures
e.g. ACLS, ATLS etc. will be an added advantage.
·
Excellent public relations and

Nursing Officer – Outreach Health Centres (Locum)
Overall Responsibility: Reporting to the Medical Officer in Charge the successful
candidate will provide safe and competent nursing care to patients at the
respective Outreach Health Centre.
Key Responsibilities
·
Demonstrates clinical practice
competence in nursing management of all patients
·
Participate in quality improvement
and patient safety initiatives
·
Provide efficient and quality care
that is cost-effective; and that ensures value for money
·
Ensure safe custody and correct
administration of drugs.
·
Coordinate safe transfer of patients
Qualifications
·
Kenya Registered Community Health
Nurse or Kenya Registered Nurse / Midwife.
·
Basic Life Support /Advanced Cardiac
Life Support and any other specialty certification will be an added advantage.
·
Over two years’ experience in a
Medical / Surgical setting in a busy medical institution.
·
Valid Kenyan nursing practice
license.
Laboratory Technologist – Outreach Health Centres (Locum)
Overall Responsibility: Reporting to the Medical Officer in Charge the successful
candidate will be responsible for preparing documentation, processing patient’s
samples, ensuring timely dispatch of results and maintain records
Other Responsibilities:
·
Receive and process specimens,
release patients result and archive specimens as per laboratory procedures.
·
Maintain relevant equipment in terms
of routine maintenance, calibration and quality control.
·
Participate in proficiency testing
and other quality assurance programs.
·
Create and maintain documents and
records as required in the laboratory.
·
Ensuring compliance with relevant
policies and procedures including but not limited to those related to safety
and infection control.
Requirements and Qualifications
·
Higher National Diploma in Medical
Laboratory Sciences from a recognized institution.
·
Excellent knowledge of laboratory
operations and procedures.
·
Excellent knowledge and experience in
hematology, biochemistry, histology and microbiology is essential.
·
Minimum three years working
experience in a busy medical laboratory.
·
Knowledge and experience in ISO 15189
Standard is desirable.
·
Registration with the Kenya Medical
Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board with a current practice license is
mandatory.
Pharmaceutical Technologist – Outreach Health Centres (Locum)
Overall Responsibility: Reporting the Medical Officer in Charge the successful
candidate will provide both quality pharmacy services and healthcare.
Requirements and Qualifications
·
Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology
from KMTC or equivalent from a recognized institution.
·
Must be registered and licensed by
the Kenya Pharmacy and Poisons Board
·
Over one year working experience in a
busy pharmacy
·
Over one year in inventory control
and management
Phlebotomist – Outreach Health Centres (Locum)
Overall Responsibility: Reporting to the Laboratory Manager, the successful
candidate will be responsible for the safe collection of laboratory samples
following laid down procedures, ensuring suitability of test samples and
privacy of patients and personnel.
Other Responsibilities:
·
Timely collection of blood samples
and other types of specimens for laboratory investigations from both
in-patients and out-patients as per test requirements.
·
Timely recording and distribution of
specimens to the laboratory for processing.
·
Maintain adequate stocks of
phlebotomy supplies within the section.
·
Bleed donors as per the laboratory
standard operating procedures.
·
Attend to patients’ queries and
demonstrate good public relations and customer care.
·
Perform and manage quality control
checks for all pre-analytical processes, consumables and the environment.
·
Support the laboratory to maintain
ISO 15189:2012 Accreditation.
Requirements
·
Certificate in Phlebotomy or its equivalent.

Medical Records Officers – Outreach Health Centres (Locum)
Overall Responsibility: Reporting to the Medical Officer in Charge the successful
candidate will be responsible for providing safe, effective storage of patient
medical records towards ensuring integrity, easy accessibility, completeness
and confidentiality of patient information.
Responsibilities:
·
Routine data collection by performing
daily collection and collation of bed bureau census as well as collection of
clinic reports.
·
Coding and Indexing of diseases to
enable provision of data for learning, administrative purposes and as per
statutory requirements.
·
Editing of Patient files as per the
patient assembly order policy.
·
Clinic preparation by retrieving
files and ensuring patient records are readily available as required.
Qualifications
·
Diploma in Health records from a
recognized institution.
·
Minimum two years working experience
in a busy Hospital environment.
·
Excellent customer service and people
management skills.

Excellent computer skills and ability
to work with minimum supervision.
Cleaner – Outreach Health Centres (Locum)
Overall Responsibility: The successful candidate will be responsible for the
general cleaning of the facility and any other duties that may be assigned to
ensure a hygienic environment within the Medical Centre.
Requirements

At least a Certificate in
Housekeeping
·
Good communication skills in both
English and Kiswahili
·
At least one year working experience
in a similar position.
Patient Service Officer – Outreach Health Centres (Locum)
Overall Responsibility: Reporting to the Senior House Officer In-charge, the
successful candidate will be responsible for financial transactions as well as
working closely with Medical and Nursing staff to ensure smooth patient flow
and reduce down on waiting time while ensuring continuous provision of
effective service to enhance customer satisfaction.
Requirements
·
CPA IV or equivalent.
·
Excellent Skills in MS Office suite.
·
Certificate in front office
operations or its equivalent will be an added advantage.
·
Ability to relate to patients,
through familiarity with medical terminology and triaging procedure.
·
Ability and willingness to treat all
patients with the utmost kindness and consideration in the most trying
situations.
·
