The Office of Research and Program at Kenyatta National Hospital in collaboration with the University of Washington is seeking to fill the following position.
Position: Administrative Assistant
Location: Kenyatta National Hospital
Reporting to: Study Administrator and Principal Investigator

Roles and Responsibilities.
·         Prepare payroll for the project staff, follow through the payment and submit statutory deductions to relevant bodies.
·         Implement financial and administrative policies as established by KNH and Various donor partners
·         Follow Payment vouchers and other accounting documents through KNH finance department to ensure they are paid in time are properly described, filed and stored safely.
·         Ensures that petty cash is available and its management is according to the set guidelines and cash counts are done from time to time.
·         Maintain a well updated asset register for all the project and ensure all assets are properly labeled and recorded in the asset register.
·         Prepare and maintain records of correspondence with institutional review boards, ethical review committees, donors and collaborators.
·         Coordinate and make arrangements for venues for meetings and training sessions.
·         Coordinating and reporting progress of the study administrative activities.
·         Maintain personnel files i.e. CVs, appointment letters, contracts, leave records etc.
·         Ensuring staff paychecks are processed on time, as well as preparation and payment of locum salaries and benefits.
·         Procuring of office, lab and clinic supplies.
·         Keeping supplier records and maintaining the supply reorder levels.
·         Other duties as they may be assigned by the administrator.
Qualifications:
·         Applicant should be a holder of Diploma in project management/ Business management or a related field.
·         At least 3 months experience in administration position
·         Proficient in the use of Ms excel
·         Ability to work with minimal supervision
·         Strong analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills

Position: Retention Officer
Reporting to: Study Coordinator & Principal Investigator
Retention Officer Responsibilities and Requirements
·         Conduct home visits for each potential study participant
·         Recruit and enroll participants into the study
·         Collect data per approved Standard Operating Procedures and input into Android tablet system
·         Conduct follow up visits via phone and in person with study participants
·         Submit weekly summaries on retention to the study data manager
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills Required
·         Diploma in social work, community health development or other relevant field
·         Experience working in the community with extensive geographic knowledge of the area and how to find participants’ homes
·         Good computer skills
·         Past research experience: At least one year
·         Familiar with Maternal and Child Health needs of the community
·         Excellent communication skills: Excellent skills with text messaging and mobile phones
·         Language skills: Fluency in English and Luo
·         Team player with ability to work closely with Study Nurses and Retention Officers

Position: Laboratory Technologist
Reporting to: Study Coordinator & Principal Investigator
Responsibilities and Requirements

·         Receive and archive all study samples using freezer work
·         Submit weekly reports of samples collected and archived
·         Conduct local and international shipment
·         Coordinate samples transportation from study sites
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills Required
·         Degree in Medical Laboratory Science
·         Must be registered by KLMTTB
·         Good computer skills
·         Past research experience in research laboratory: At least 5 years
·         Experience in RedCap, Freezer work and ODK will be an added advantage
·         Good computer skills

Position: Study Nurse
Reporting to: Study Coordinator & Principal Investigator
Study Nurse Responsibilities and Requirements
·         Diploma in nursing
·         Registered with the Nursing Council and have a practicing license
·         Excellent computer skills
·         Held a previous position in Maternal and Child Health
·         Language skills: fluency in English, Kiswahili
·         Team player with ability to work closely with other study staff at the site
·         Must have training and certification in Human Subjects Protection Research
·         Experience in collection of study data using REDCap and ODK
·         The candidate should have at least one-year experience in PMTCT
·         Must have enough experience in obtaining venous blood samples from mother and infants
Specific Tasks and Responsibilities
·         Collect data per approved Standard Operating Procedures and input into Android tablet system
·         Conduct follow up visit in person with study participants either at the facility or at home
·         Submit weekly summaries of follow-up and exit visits interviews to the study data manager
·         Collect venous blood samples from mothers and infants

Position: Data Clerk

Data Clerk Responsibilities and Requirements
·         Generating barcode labels
·         Troubleshooting Redcap problems
·         Assist with Redcap development and maintenance
·         Generating weekly reports
·         Data export and analysis
·         Report generation
·         Data quality control; data cleaning
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills Required
·         Must have a bachelor degree in mathematics or statistics
·         Minimum of two years experience in data entry
·         Proficient in excel in generating and analyzing study reports
·         Experience in RedCap will be an added advantage
·         Good computer skills
·         Excellent communication skills: Excellent skills with text messaging and mobile phones
·         Team player with ability to work closely with Study Nurses and Retention Officers
