Orthopaedic Technologist

Job purpose
Reporting to the Senior Orthopaedic Technologist, the Orthopaedic Technologist I will be responsible for efficient and effective delivery of orthopaedic services in the Hospital.
Responsibilities

·         Assessing patients needs.
·         Preparing and fitting orthopaedic appliances.
·         Verifying and maintaining information relating to patients.
·         Designing the orthopaedic appliances.
·         Fabricating and assembling prosthetic/orthotic devices and other orthopaedic appliances.
·         Ensuring availability of supplies and equipment.
·         Ensuring maintenance, repair and replacement of the appliance.
·         Supervising, training, guiding and mentoring staff and students.
Qualifications
·         Bachelor’s degree in Orthopaedic Technology or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
·         Registered with National Association Orthopedics of Kenya.

Quality Assurance Coordinator

Job Purpose
Reporting to the Senior Quality Assurance Coordinator, the Quality Assurance Coordinator will be responsible for the implementation of quality assurance programmes and ensuring that quality systems are maintained in accordance with the ISO 9001:2015 Standards.
Responsibilities
·         Coordinating quality systems audits
·         Participating in the formulation of quality assurance policies for the hospital
·         Provide oversight on risk management of the institution
·         Coordinating training on quality systems
·         Preparing reports on risk and quality related issues.
·         Initiating quality systems research in the hospital
·         Coordinating activities of risk management and quality assurance officers.
·         Assisting departments in developing risk registers
Qualifications
·         Bachelor’s degree in any of the following: Research Methods, Nursing, Public Health, Health Management or Quality Management or any health related field.
·         Experience in Quality Assurance matters.
·         A certificate in ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditors course will be an added advantage.
·         Certificate in computer operations from a recognized institution.
·         Prove of being a member of a Quality Management System Committee in a Hospital Set up would be an added advantage.

Deputy Chief Dental Technologist

JOB GROUP K5 (N)
Job Purpose
Reporting to the Head of Department, Dentistry, the Deputy Chief Dental Technologist will be responsible for planning and coordination of dental services in the Hospital.
Responsibilities
·         Performing dental prosthesis.
·         Adjusting devices for people who have lost teeth or need to correct the appearance and performance of their teeth.
·         Constructing plastic dentures or implants.
·         Reconstructing the face of people damaged by accidents or diseases.
·         Designing, implementing and evaluating training programmes.
·         Coordinating the designing of appliances/ prostheses required in dentistry.
·         Assessing patient’s needs in relation to the appliances/prostheses.
·         Providing specifications for procurement of dental equipment and materials.
·         Training, counseling, guiding and mentoring staff and students.
·         Arranging and clasping teeth for new wire or cast chrome partials.
·         Banding wire for clasping and making soldered rests for partial dentures.
·         Coordinating construction of new dental appliances by selecting and setting up acrylic or porcelain teeth using dental wax, articulator, and various waxing instruments according to dentist’s prescription.
·         Fabricating base plates and wax bite rims.
·         Recording bite relations on dental articulators.
·         Grinding, smoothing, and polishing dental prosthetics using finishing burrs and grinding equipment.
·         Operating and maintaining a variety of dental laboratory tools and equipment such as trimmers, grinders, lathes, articulators, and cleaning devices; and
·         Maintaining, recording, preparing reports, and conducting correspondence relative to the work.
Qualifications
·         Master’s degree in Dental Technology or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
·         Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Technology from a recognized institution or its equivalent.
·         A minimum of eight (8) years relevant work experience with at least three (3) years’ experience in a supervisory capacity.
·         Certificate in leadership/management course.
·         Demonstrated professional competence and administrative capability.
·         Registration with the professional/Regulatory body.
·         Certificate in knowledge and proficiency in computer applications.

Chief Nutrition Officer

Job purpose
Reporting to the Deputy Director, Medical Services, the Chief Nutrition Officer will be responsible for the planning, organizing, controlling, supervising and evaluating the nutrition services in the Hospital.
Responsibilities
·         Formulating and reviewing of Policies, procedures and guidelines.
·         Initiating and reviewing nutrition programmes.
·         Providing guidelines on supplemental and therapeutic diets for existing and emerging diseases for Hospital use.
·         Developing nutrition information, education, promotion and communication materials.
·         Providing nutrition consultancy support.
·         Developing specialized diets for special needs.
·         Providing nutrition services in specialized clinics.

Reporting to the Manager, Monitoring and Evaluation, the Data Analyst I will be responsible for conducting full lifecycle analysis, monitoring performance and quality control plans to identify improvements.
Responsibilities
·         Interpreting data, analyzing results using statistical techniques and providing ongoing reports.
·         Developing and implementing databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
·         Acquiring data from primary or secondary data sources and maintaining databases/data systems.

Reporting to the Manager, Monitoring and Evaluation, the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer II will be responsible for monitoring and evaluating all Hospital strategies, policies, programmes and projects.
Responsibilities
·         Collecting, compiling and analyzing data from reports submitted by department/ units and preparing consolidated progress reports.
·         Performing desk audits, studies and evaluations of on-going policies and strategies and implementation processes of programmes and projects.
·         Consolidating the Hospital’s resource mobilization needs and prioritizing resource mobilization requirements.
·         Designing and piloting of all data collection instruments.
·         Conducting operational researches to identify process improvement initiatives to improve organization performance.

Job Purpose
Reporting to the Deputy Director, Facilities and Services, the Senior Superintending Engineer (Electrical) will be responsible for planning and implementation of electrical services in the Hospital.
Responsibilities
·         Coordinating, controlling and directing of electrical and plants section of Engineering Department.
·         Developing work plan and budget for the department and submission for approval.
·         Participating in procurement of goods, works and services.
·         Managing engineering inventories, developing and implementing PPM schedules for equipment and services.
·         Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual departmental reports.
·         Preparing draft board management papers for approval.
·         Identifying and analyzing training needs for departmental staff.

Responsibilities
·         Formulating and reviewing administrative policies, procedures and guidelines.

·         Coordinating and maintaining building and equipment.
·         Managing the inventory of assets.
·         Ensuring timely payment of bills for common services.
·         Managing contracts for maintenance services by outside vendors and ensuring compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Chief Human Resource Officer I

Job purpose
Reporting to the Deputy Director, Human Resource, the successful candidate will be expected to participate in the planning, coordination, organization and general Human Resource management services in the hospital.
Responsibilities
·         Implementing human resource management policies, procedures, processes and guidelines.
·         Analyzing utilization of human resources in the Hospital and advising on proper deployment.
·         Interpreting and implementing human resource management regulations, rules and procedures.

Job Purpose
Reporting to the Deputy Director, Planning & Strategy, the Monitoring and Evaluation Manager will be responsible for coordinating all Monitoring & Evaluation related activities and providing constant feedback to the Board of Management, Technical and Program Teams.
Responsibilities
·         Providing leadership in coordinating the Hospital budget process.
·         Overseeing the establishing and managing a performance monitoring and evaluation framework for all programmes and projects in the Hospital.
·         Overseeing the conduct of mid-term and post-programme evaluations and the preparation of periodic progress reports on programmes, projects and strategies.
·         Directing analysis of M&E findings, best practices and lessons learned and the dissemination of same to departments/units.
·         Supporting Management in employing an impact and evidence-based approach to working so that lessons learnt are implemented in future plans and priorities.
·         Overseeing the collection and provision of planning data for the formulation of the Hospitals development strategies.
·         Leading in monitoring the implementation of Strategic Plan, Annual Operational Plan and Performance Contract and compiling of periodic reports.

Responsibilities
·         Implementing medical engineering programmes and projects.
·         Providing user support
·         Undertaking preventive maintenance and repairs of medical/hospital equipment, plants, furniture and instruments.
·         Installing medical equipment and furniture of medium technology
·         Providing specifications for spare parts and consumables
·         Maintaining inventory of medical/hospital equipment, furniture and plants
·         Updating and maintaining information on medical engineering services for input into the integrated health information management system
