National Oil Corporation of Kenya is mandated, by the Government of Kenya, to participate in all aspects of the oil and gas sector, covering the up-stream sector (oil and gas exploration), mid-stream (petroleum and gas infrastructure development) and down-stream (sales and marketing of petroleum products).

The Corporation is desirous of recruiting a qualified professional to fill the following position:-
Position: General Manager, Downstream Operations
Location: Head Office

Reports To: Chief Executive Officer
Job Group: 2 – General Manager
Job Purpose: Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the ideal candidate will take overall charge of managing of the Corporation’s Sales, Marketing and Engineering departments while ensuring excellence in customer service and in the optimization of opportunities.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
·         Developing and implementing the Corporation’s Sales, Marketing and Engineering strategies;
·         Ensuring that set Targets are met;
·         In charge of volume growth (market share growth) in line with the set strategy;
·         In charge of Division’s profitability in the sales department;
·         Designing and ensuring compliance and adherence to company policies, procedures statutory regulations and systems;
·         Developing, implementing and monitoring the Division budget;
·         Improving the marketing of new existing oil products;
·         Approving upgrades and maintenance programs to optimize productivity across the Corporation;
·         Ensuring that all projects are completed on time and within the budget;
·         Ensuring achievement of all Services Level Agreements with suppliers, distributors and all business partners in this directorate;
·         Ensuring all customers are trading within the approved terms;
·         Coaching and mentoring direct reports to ensure excellent performance and effective succession planning.
Profile
Academic Qualifications
·         Masters’ degree in Strategic Management, Marketing or any business field will be an added advantage.
·         Bachelors’ degree in Marketing, Business Administration or any business related field.
Professional Qualifications
·         Diploma in Business Management, Sales and Marketing, Customer Service or Business Management will be an added advantage.
Experience
·         At least twelve (12) years’ relevant experience, five (5) of which should have been at a senior management level in sales, operations or supply planning;
·         Experience in the oil and gas sector will be an added advantage;
·         Proven intellectual leadership in managing people, operations and financial resources;
·         Proven ability to think strategically and design long term plans;
·         Strong supervision, coaching and mentoring skills;
·         Strong organizational and coordination skills; and
·         Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Position: Security Officer
Department: Security
Reports To: Assistant Manager, Security
Location: Head Office- Nairobi
Job Group: NOC 6
Job Purpose: Reporting to the Assistant Manager, Security, the ideal candidate will be assisting in ensuring protection of operations, equipment, and facilities owned by the corporation as well as the security of employees.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
·         Responsible for the Security systems throughout the Corporation;
·         Identifying, evaluating and prescribing adequate corrective measures for any security threats that the Corporation may encounter;
·         Assisting in responding to medical emergencies, fire alarms, or intrusion alarms, following emergency response procedures;
·         Undertaking Security Risk Assessment and coming up with mitigating factors;
·         Undertaking Security Audits to assess the Corporation’s Security position;
·         Assisting in investigation of Security related incidents and near misses;
·         Conducting induction of new guards who may be stationed within the facilities before they commence their duties in compliance to company procedures;
·         Managing and coordinating activities of contracted security companies;
·         Reviewing the Corporation’s information Security to ensure compliance with information security policy.
·         Analyzing Security training gaps and providing recommendations on appropriate measures to be taken, and following up on the same to ensure that the gaps are closed.
·         Assisting in the implementation and continuous improvement of ISO Procedures.
·         Ensuring compliance with the Corporation’s policies, statutory regulations and procedures to enhance operational efficiency; and
·         Any other duty that may be assigned.
Person Specifications
Academic Qualifications

·         A Bachelor’s Degree in Security Management, Criminology or any other related field from a recognized institution.
Experience
·         Knowledge in information Security management reviews;
·         Knowledge of CCTV, Door access systems, intruder alarms and integrated security systems;
·         Minimum of five (5) Years of working experience in police or military service;
·         Experience in Criminal investigations;
·         Experience in a busy commercial environment in a similar position will be an added advantage;
·         Team player with strong coordinating, communication & interpersonal skills
·         Attention to detail;
·         Ability to multi task & work under pressure
·         High standards of personal integrity;
·         Well regarded demeanor.

Position: Senior Territory Officer
Reports To: Assistant Manager
Job Group: NOC 5
Job Purpose: Reporting to the Assistant Manager the ideal candidate will drive sales with a view of growing sales volumes and margins.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
·         Implementing business sales strategy by acquiring new business opportunities;
·         Maintaining existing business in the respective sector;
·         Conducting market Intelligence with a view to positioning the company as the most competitive in price, product range & quality;
·         Providing product training to customers;
·         Effectively following up of stocking to maximize sales;
·         Participating in coordinating customer relations activities with a view of gathering customer complaints, compliments and to improve relations;
·         Enforcing good management of credit to ensure customers operate within limit and timely collections;
·         Complying with EHS operational procedures, policies and regulations;
·         Coordinating sales promotion campaigns and customer open days;
·         Coordinating the issuance and maintenance of corporate equipment assets given for purposes of growing sales;
·         Preparing and participating in tenders to acquire new business and
·         Any other duty that may be assigned.
Profile
Academic Qualifications
·         Bachelors’ degree in Marketing, Business Administration or any other relevant field from a recognized institution.
Professional Qualifications
·         Diploma in Sales or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution will be an added advantage;
Experience
·         At least five (5) years relevant work experience in sales;
·         Good relationship building skills;
·         Selling skills;
·         Good communication skills;
·         Good negotiation skills; and
·         Good interpersonal skills.
