Business Development

To undertake marketing activities towards growing Society membership, develop competitive products for members and carry out product awareness campaigns, all geared to growing Society’s profitability and capital.
Responsibilities

·         Build a methodical and focused approach to business development in identified sectors
·         To monitor implementation and review of the Society’s strategic plan, policies and procedure manuals as relates to the department
·         Identify market niches and craft appropriate strategies for reaching existing and potential members of the Society
·         Develop new business relationships, generate and negotiate new income for the Sacco at an agreed growth oriented annual target and follow through on potential new business opportunities
·         Identify target and potential markets and design ways to consistently communicate the brand and products in all marketing activities
·         Conduct Marketing activities based on knowledge of the customers segments and target market, so as to deliver products and services that satisfy the market segments
·         Develop and implement appropriate communication and public relations strategies
·         Oversee the design, execution, and communication of primary marketing research studies to evaluate specific performance, SACCO positioning, competitive positioning and customer profiling as well as managing the analysis and interpretation of secondary research data to provide direction for strategic plans
·         To keep alert to competitive forces and marketing practices and to keep the management advised on ways to counter them
·         To ensure that customer service is administered in accordance with SACCO policy, in a mutually beneficial manner, to ensure lasting goodwill between the SACCO and all relevant stakeholders
·         To design and develop product and services that will satisfy various market segments based on market research findings
·         Manage publications including but not limited to writing speeches, annual accounts, periodic newsletters, brochures, etc.
·         Motivate, manage, and set targets, monitor performance of the sales team and other staff in the department.
Requirements
·         A university degree in marketing, or in business administration (marketing) or its equivalent
·         Professional training in marketing and public relations.
·         Membership to a professional body
·         Minimum of 5 years relevant experience
·         Experience in the financial services sector is an added advantage

Branch Manager

Location: Kisumu
Type of Engagement: Contract
Responsible for the growth of business within the branch and management of the marketing and office team.
Responsibilities
·         Market products and services in order to generate business.
·         Respond to user queries and solve identified problems
·         Maintain customer contact in the work area to ensure quality services delivery
·         Develop annual work plans, annual Budget & procurement plans for the branch
·         Provide team leadership and manage performance of staff within the branch for improved service delivery and to meet set targets.
·         Handle and resolve customer queries/issues
·         Conduct recruitment drives for membership/business growth
·         Prepare and submit periodical branch performance reports
·         Represent the company in case of meetings in area of jurisdiction.
·         Monitor and control branch assets of the SACCO to ensure proper usage.
·         Verify loan applications to ensure they are properly filled.
·         Monitor and collect outstanding amounts / dues
Requirements
·         Bachelors’ degree in Marketing or equivalent from a recognized institution.

Accounts Assistant

Responsibilities

·         Receipting of deposits and cheque payments from members on daily basis
·         Updating of standing orders and bank transfers to members’ accounts and organisations
·         Maintenance of the cheque deposits register and safe keeping of cheques
·         Raising of journal vouchers for approval
·         Reconciliation of monthly tabulation of shares and loans and ensuring correction of the same
·         Reconciliation of the Cash-book with bank statements and ensuring proper posting are made into the Ledger Accounts
·         File correspondence for all payments made
·         Sending member statements half yearly
Requirements
·         Diploma in a business related field
·         CPA Part 2
·         Minimum 3 years relevant experience

Loans Clerks
Job Reference No: LC/NS/01/2019
Location: Kisumu and Mombasa
Type of Engagement: Permanent
Responsible for the day to day coordination of the loaning function in ensuring that all loan accounts are posted and up-to-date and assist in ensuring effective debt recovery
Responsibilities
·         Processing of loan applications.
·         Preparing and submitting remittance advices to members and payroll officers upon disbursement of members’ loans.
·         Advising members on their loan status
·         Prepare monthly reports for loans approved and disbursed
·         Ensure timely reconciliation of accounts within the department
·         Prepare monthly list of defaulters
·         Advising defaulters and their guarantors
Requirements
·         Diploma in Co-operative Management, Business Administration or equivalent qualification.
·         CPA Part 2
·         Minimum 3 years relevant experience

Assistant Accountants

Job Reference No: AAC/NS/01/2019
Location: Nairobi

The position holder will assist the Accountant by performing all the basic bookkeeping and help in preparation of final reports
Responsibilities
·         Maintaining accounting records of the society and processing the society’s payments.
·         Preparing bank and general ledger reconciliations.
·         Assisting the accountant in preparing monthly financial reports.
·         Filing all tax returns of the society.
·         Assisting the accountant in preparing for audits.
·         Extract the daily cash flow report to facilitate decision making
·         Ensure that all the purchase and requisitions are posted on the system
·         Liaison with banks
·         Imprest management
Requirements
