Aviation Solutions Manager 
Description

Reporting to the Area Manager Eastern Africa, the incumbent will be responsible for the sales of IATA’s commercial services and products in Eastern Africa to existing and potential new customers.

Responsibilities

·         Developing relationships with non-Member airlines in the countries assigned and makeing them aware of the services and products IATA can offer to them;
·         Providing customers value-added solutions with professionalism and sound industrial knowledge;
·         Identifying new customers for IATA products and services;
·         Monitoring the market, selected customer profiles, competition trends and behaviors for own target category and preparing sales plan for own target category as part of the regional sales plan;
·         Working together with the regional and global product specialists, divisional, marketing and product management to fulfil the customer needs in the best possible way;
·         Plan, execute and report on sales activities through global tool;
·         Supporting new product sales;
·         Supporting other Eastern African activities.

Qualifications

·         University degree in business administration, marketing, economics or other relevant discipline;
·         8-10 years’ experience in an international sales function, experience in the aviation industry is a prerequisite;
·         Relevant experience in project management, account management and consulting is a distinct advantage;
·         Excellent communication skills (aptitude to explain concepts over the phone); ability to deal with a wide range of clients worldwide and professionally address any level of management;
·         Highly motivated self-starter (strong initiative) team player and possesses multi-cultural awareness;
·         Strong organizational skills, results oriented; proactive/positive attitude;
·         Ability to travel;
·         IT skills, particularly MS Office Suite and MS Project as well as familiarity with databases and CRM tools;
·         Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Knowledge of another language would be a definite asset.

Regional Manager, Cargo and Security 
Reporting to Africa Regional Director of Airport, Passenger, Cargo, and Security (APCS), the regional manager  will be responsible for all regional activities, initiatives, and targets related to passenger, airport operations and
security/facilitation, following the guidelines from the regional director, and working hand in hand with Country Managers, local and regional associations, and global APCS teams. The focus will be to work with governments, airports, member airlines, service providers, and airport concessionaries to achieve cost reductions, operational efficiencies, and seamless travel experience.

Responsibilities

·         Lead the regional work in passenger, airport operations and security/facilitation and developing the regional strategies and priorities based on the global guidelines and the regional needs and realities.
·         Work closely with the Africa Area Managers and AME RLT, and in coordination and alignment with central APCS teams, towards achieving set regional targets, through:
·         Promoting and delivering IATA Passenger, airport operations and security/facilitation related policies, positions, objectives, projects, amongst airlines, governments, local and regional organizations, and other concerned industry stakeholders, such as Fast Travel, Passenger Facilitation, Smart Security, One Stop Security, Cyber Security, Conflict Zones, Data Sharing, and other initiatives .
·         Proactive and/or reactive engagements with authorities and providers to ensure that security related regulations and requirements are in compliance with IATA, ICAO, and industry recommended best practices, such as Advanced Passenger & Cargo Information, PNR Information. And ensure these regulatory requirements are rolled-out with transparency and consultancy with the member airlines, without unnecessary financial or administrative burdens to them.
·         Building and maintaining an effective regional stake holder’s network and partnerships with airlines, airports, civil aviation authorities, regulators, governments, and regional associations, and ensure their alignment with and support for IATA lobbying and advocacy endeavors.
·         Planning and delivering IATA advocacy campaigns and engagements aiming to have a more favorable regulatory environment in accordance to IATA, ICAO, and industry’s best practices and recommendations.
·         Providing Subject Matter Expertise and Project Management support to the regional internal and/or external stake holders.
·         Representing IATA in internal and external workshops, seminars, and events aiming towards educating key regional industry stake holders and public opinions.
·         To support IATA campaigns on Airport Development, Charges, & Fuel.
·         Support achieving IATA revenue generating targets through promotion of IATA APCS products and services and creating leads for the commercial team.
To provide timely reports to Africa APCS Regional Director

Qualifications and Skills

·         University degree in Business Administration, Engineering or Economics; suitable experience may be considered in lieu of professional qualification;

·         Minimum of 5 years working experience in aviation security and passenger and airport operations.
·         Highly motivated with proven team work abilities;
·         A self-starter approach with ability to proactively engage with stakeholders and progress work goals;
·         Excellent communication skills with ability to influence senior stakeholder with diplomacy;
·         Experience in making clear presentations and preparing reports based on technical merits and facts;
·         Proficiency in Microsoft Office, and
·         Fluent in both written and spoken English and French languages. Other languages would be an asset.

Regional Manager, Cargo 

Responsibilities

Stakeholder Engagement:
·         Build and maintain pro-active relationships with customers and key personnel in member airlines and other industry stakeholders, including airport authorities, regulators, suppliers, and service providers in the region, as well as with non-member airlines in the cargo value chain.
·         Promote IATA’s policies, positions, objectives, activities, initiatives, services and products in the air cargo theme amongst airlines, governments, regional organizations and other industry stakeholders.
·         Perform representative duties in internal and external workshops, seminars, and events aiming to develop and promote IATA cargo standards and initiatives targeting key regional industry stake holders and public opinion.
Delivery:
·         Support the development of the regional cargo work plan, and lead the delivery of the cargo regional strategies and priorities based on the global guidelines, the regional needs, and account plans.
·         Work on removing regulatory barriers before IATA cargo experience initiatives allowing the use of technology, digitization, on-line, and self-service solutions.
·         Provide technical support and assistance to the members and stakeholders across the cargo supply chain, promoting standards, best practices, and advanced solutions.
·         Support cargo solutions innovation through focusing on to customer needs, and support pilot initiatives in the region.
·         Work closely with Field Offices, The Regional Office, and other IATA Divisions on all cross-functional areas coordinating projects delivery and information sharing.
Commercial Support
·         Support achieving IATA revenue generating targets through promotion of IATA solutions
·         Cluster Team Work and Expert Knowledge
·         Collaborate with and support the Cluster Project Team in an agile way;
·         Partner with regional Subject Matter Experts to ensure a constant upskilling and regional capacity building;
·         Provide timely reports to the Cluster Project Leaders regarding progress of work of the set objectives
·         Maintain a proactive relationship with Subject Matter Experts at Headquarter level where applicable and benefit from expert guidance;
·         Support fostering a culture of inclusion, integrity, team spirit, strategic thinking, partnering, innovative pioneering and acting with a human touch

Qualifications

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering or any other relevant discipline;
·         Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in a similar role with at least 5 years working in a similar role in aviation security, cargo, passenger and/or airport operations
·         Experience in networking with and influencing stakeholders, governments and other institutions on aviation as well as economic matters
·         Experience in successful public speaking engagements, in making effective presentations to varying audiences and in preparing reports based on technical merits and facts
·         Working knowledge of ICAO standards and recommended practices, best practices and other procedures in civil aviation operations;
·         Advanced Proficiency in MS Office
Preferred Qualifications
·         Advanced degree is an asset e.g. MBA
·         Previous experience in managing, leading or overseeing projects is an asset
·         Advanced proficiency in MS Office, Project Management tools or/and CRMs (e.g. Salesforce)
·         Proficiency in regional languages (CEFR B1)
