Program Officer

MobiGrow Program is a partnership between KCB and MasterCard Foundation. MobiGrow, which is implemented by KCB Bank Group in Kenya and Rwanda seeks to sustainably bank small holder farmers by offering them both financial and non-financial services with the aim of promoting higher farm productivity, resolve constraints in access to technical training for smallholder crop farmers, dairy producers and pastoralists.
Reporting to the Program Manager, the jobholder is responsible for Farmers’ mobilization, organization and capacity building for financial inclusion aimed at increasing incomes and strengthening their skills knowledge and social capital required to achieve sustainable economic self-sufficiency.  The objectives of the Program include:
·         Delivery of a highly innovative and scalable mobile phone based Digital Financial solution for rural smallholders and pastoralists
·         Improve productivity amongst Rural Agro-entrepreneurs by facilitating farmers’ training; access to inputs and veterinary care as well as digital content services such as training and market information.
·         Build the capacity of Producer Organizations to offer better services to farmers and pastoralists.
The Position
The Program Officer will take leadership in MobiGrow program activities implementation, monitoring & reporting in ASAL Regions so as to realize the Program’s objectives and goals of improving livelihood status for smallholder farmers and pastoralists in Kenya through access to trainings, capacity building services and financial services.

Responsibilities

·         Mobilization and management of farmers groups, producer organizations and farmers cooperatives.
·         Establish linkage with key stakeholders and farmers’ institutions at various levels
·         Coordinate program activities in designated geographies; in the areas of farmers/pastoralists mobilization, farmers/pastoralists trainings, facilitation of inputs services provision, producer organizations capacity development, and financial access pipeline development.
·         Capacity building and strengthening of Farmers groups, Producer Organizations and Cooperatives for financial inclusion.
·         Work planning; develop and implement approved work plans adhering to strict deadlines and work output quality parameters ensuring timely program documentation and reporting.
·         Budgets & resources management; be accountable in allocated resources management and utilization whilst ensuring a maximum value for money is realized in all endeavors.
·         Program activities monitoring and reporting; provide weekly updates, monthly and quarterly reports as required by the program management.
·         Relationship building; establish and build good working relations with partners, clients, service providers and other stakeholders in a manner that promote advancement of program activities and KCB’s brand visibility.
·         Support integration of KCB Commercial Agriculture products and services amongst the farmers and within farmer organizations
·         Coordinate with concerned Government departments and leverage necessary support for the program.
·         Any other responsibility as assigned that goes towards promotion of program objectives & Bank’s growth.

Qualifications

For the above position, the successful applicant should have the following:
·         University Degree preferably in Agribusiness, Project Management, Business Management, Cooperative Development or its equivalent from an Institution recognized by the Commission of Higher Education.
·         Masters Degree and/or Professional qualifications in related field will be an added advantage.
·         Have at least 4 years’ working experience; having had
1.   At least 3 years’ experience in Donor Funded Project activities coordination
2.   At least 3 years’ experience in Producer Organization Support with farmers’ training and capacity building experience (specifically in the areas of Governance, Business skills and Financial Literacy).
3.   At least 3 years’ experience in ASAL livelihood support activities; Project planning, management and monitoring; have vast reporting experience.
·         Relationship management skills: Track record of building and managing strong client and stakeholder relationships with Producer Groups, Private Sector and Governments.
·         Computer Literacy
·         Should have good Attention to detail
·         Willingness to frequently travel to Rural and ASAL regions (sometimes characterized by harsh terrains and weather)

Research Analyst

The Position
The aim of this role is to ensure that the research reports of the Company are accurate and complete, and that every research report is an accurate reflection of the transaction(s) it represents. The candidate will work closely with the Dealers team to develop trading ideas and ensure that clients receive sound financial advice.
Responsibilities
·         Act as a consultant to Dealers by understanding the financial markets and providing them with actionable research findings of key market trends and opportunities.
·         Summarize market research results and present findings to both internal and external for trading insights.
·         Ensure the integrity of data gathering; the correct interpretation of market research findings.
·         Produce industry / role – specific research as necessary.
·         Conduct strategic analysis of market, market segment and regional / country trends.
·         Review the forecast methodology, construct and maintain forecasting models.
·         Analysing and synthesizing financial and operating information about companies and sectors in order to gain insights and develop opportunities for clients.
·         Build detailed financial models in support of Capital Markets investment instruments.
·         Perform valuation analysis using various methodologies including DCF and market multiples
·         Originate Capital Markets research reports in support of client investment ideas.
·         Undertake detailed economic, sectorial and company research & analysis in support of Capital Markets products.
·         Monitor Securities market performance and interpret financial reports as necessary
Qualifications
For the above position, the successful applicant should have the following:
·         University degree in a Business related field from an institution recognized by Commission of Higher Education; Professional qualification in ACCA / CPA (K) / CFA / AKIB or MBA is an added advantage.
·         Minimum of 4 years experience in Financial Services Industry; 3 years of which must have been in Investment Banking or Corporate Finance.

·         Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal, social and presentational skills
·         Demonstrated understanding of both fundamental and technical financial analysis of a Company.
·         Experience working with Investment Banking products, Bloomberg and Reuters platforms

Senior BDM Trade Finance
Reporting to the Head Trade Finance, the position will be responsible for the implementation of the Trade Finance strategy, growth of Trade Finance incomes and business volumes through effective management of the assigned portfolio of Trade Finance clients across a spectrum of sectors whilst ensuring high level of customIRC 4277er satisfaction and compliance to internal procedures and operational controls.
Responsibilities
·         To implement the Trade Finance strategy in line with the overall Corporate Banking Strategy; to ensure achievement of profitability targets through revenue maximization and prudent cost management.
·         Drive the growth of Trade Finance incomes, business volumes and manage assigned portfolio from the process of deal origination, structuring and credit approval to contracting and placement to ensure that the process is finalized within optimal time.
·         Participate in the preparation of annual business development plans covering all aspects of International Trade Finance.
·         Provide expert Advisory services on Trade Finance products, services, solutions and transactions to Clients, Sales and Colleagues and all other relevant stakeholders.
