Pharmaceutical Technologist III

Kitui County Public Service Board (CPSB) is a body corporate established under Section 57 of the County Governments Act, 2012 pursuant to Article 235 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010. Section 59 of the County Governments Act 2012 outlines the functions of the CPSB among them being “appoint persons to hold or act in offices of the county public service including in the Boards of cities and urban areas within the county and to confirm appointments”.

Requirements

·         Be a citizen of Kenya;
·         Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade C (plain) and at least a C in Chemistry or physical Science, a C in Biology or Biological Sciences and a C in English or Kiswahili. In addition he/she must possess a C in Physics or Mathematics;
OR
·         Kenya Certificate of Education (KCE) Division two (II) with a credit pass in Chemistry or Physical Science, Biology and a credit in English or Kiswahili with a pass in Physics or Mathematics;
OR
·         A level certificate with a principal pass in Chemistry or Biology and a subsidiary pass in either Physics or Mathematics;
·         Diploma in Pharmacy award from Kenya Medical Training College or from any other recognized and approved institution; and
·         A registration Certificate on enrollment as a Pharmaceutical Technologist by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB) as per provision of Pharmacy and Poisons Act (Cap 244).

Responsibilities

·         Receiving, Interpreting and processing prescriptions;
·         Recording prescriptions in a unit pharmacy;
·         Pre-pack, repack and write instructions on the label;
·         Counseling patients on drug usage;
·         Maintain books/register of drugs;
·         Any other duty as may be assigned by a competent authority.
Salary Scale
The salary, allowances and other benefits attached to the above position will be as determined by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission.


Health Administrative Officer II

Responsibilities

·         Under supervision of a more senior officer, the officer will be responsible for:-
·         Procurement, provision and maintenance of facilities;
·         Preparation of budgets;
·         Overseeing welfare of staff and patients and ensuring their security;
·         General upkeep of the hospital;
·         Any other duty as may be assigned by a competent authority.

Requirements

·         Be a citizen of Kenya;
·         Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE), mean grade C- or its equivalent qualification with at least a C in English/Kiswahili and Mathematics from a recognized institution;

Assistant Physiotherapist

Requirements

·         Be a citizen of Kenya;
·         Diploma in Physiotherapy from a recognized institution;
·         Current certificate of practice from Physiotherapy Council of Kenya (PCK); and Certificate in Computer Application skills.

Responsibilities

·         Under supervision of a more senior officer, the officer will be responsible for:
·         Providing physiotherapy services to in-patients and out-patients at an outpatient unit/ward/health institution;
·         Assessing patient needs including rehabilitation;
·         Verifying and maintaining information and records relating to patients;
·         Screening, assessing and providing therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, electrotherapy and hydrotherapy as per the patients/clients formulated treatment plan;
·         Collecting data for operational research;
·         Sensitizing the community on physiotherapy issues;

Kenya Registered Community Health Nurse III

Requirements

·         Be a Kenyan citizen;
·         Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Kenya Registered Community, Health Nursing, Kenya Registered Nursing, Kenya Registered Midwifery, Kenya Registered Nursing/ Midwifery or Kenya Registered Nursing Mental Health and Psychiatry from a recognized institution;
·         Valid practicing license from the Nursing Council of Kenya;

Requirements

·         Be a citizen of Kenya;
·         Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines:- Business Administration (Supplies Management Option), Commerce, Marketing, Economics, Statistics, Procurement and Supplies Management, Law or any other relevant field from a recognized Institution;

General Accountant
Job Group ‘R’

Requirements

·         Be a citizen of Kenya;
·         Be in possession of a Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Commerce, Economics or its equivalent from a university recognized in Kenya;
·         Be in possession of a relevant Masters degree from a university recognised in Kenya;
·         Be a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) and in good standing;
·         Have at least twelve (12) years relevant professional experience in financial management, five years of which should have been in a Senior leadership position or at a top management level in the Public Service or Private Sector;
·         Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 on Leadership and Integrity.

Responsibilities

The Accountant General will be responsible to the relevant Chief Officer for the following:
·         Advising on all accounting matters of the County Government of Kitui;
·         Developing and ensuring implementation of effective internal controls;
·         Advising on the efficient use of financial resources and county assets;
·         Preparing financial statements in accordance with the PFM Act, 2012;
·         Preparing management financial reports for use by county entities;
·         Advising on efficient and effective use of financial resources and county assets;
·         Ensuring effective budgetary implementation and controls;
·         Ensuring efficient and effective cash flow management;
·         Coordinating capacity building for accounting staff;
·         Coordinating performance reviews on the financial performance of county entities; and

(Histopathologist) Laboratory Technologist

Requirements

·         Be a citizen of Kenya;
·         Diploma in Medical Laboratory Services from KMTC or any other equivalent qualification from an institution recognized by the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technology Board (KMLTTB);
·         Higher national diploma in Histology/Cytology from KMTC or any other equivalent qualification from an institution recognized by KMLTTB;
·         At least Two (2) years’ experience in a busy histology laboratory department; Registration Certificate issued by KMLTTB;
·         Valid practicing license from KMLTTB;

Responsibilities

·         Decontaminating working benches;
·         Receiving and scrutinizing laboratory requisition forms and specimens;
·         Preparing clients for collection of specimens;
·         Receiving, collecting, labeling and registering and specimens;
·         Dis-aggregating specimens for processing and analyses;
·         Preparing reagents;
·         Examining specimens;
·         Writing and recording and recording of results;
·         Dispatching the results for use in clinical management;
·         Preparing stains in histology laboratory;
·         Any other duty as may be assigned by a competent authority.
