shareholders spread all over Nyandarua County. It is a vibrant enterprise
currently handling over 60,000 liters of milk per day.
It’s business revolves around milk
collection, cooling and distribution, financial services, petrol station and
agro vet shops and services.
The short term and medium term strategy of
the company is to diversify into processing and value addition.
As part of its growth strategy the company
seeks to fill the following position:-
General Manager
Department: Office of
General Manager
Reports to: The Board of
Directors
Supervises: Departmental
Managers
Hours of Work: The job
holder is required to work beyond normal working hours with no overtime
payment. In addition, the job involves a lot of official travelling locally.
Job Overview: The General
Managers main responsibilities are to provide sound leadership towards the
achievement of the Company’s philosophy, mission strategy and its annual goals
and objectives in order to contribute to the overall performance of the company
within the authority delegated by The Board.
The job holder will be expected to
demonstrate commitment and loyalty and perform all duties in accordance with
the organisation’s office routines and procedures, keeping in mind the overall
business objectives.
Roles and Responsibilities
·
Oversee
overall consolidation and growth of the Company`s business as per the company`s
Strategic plan;
·
Provide
leadership to the management team and ensure prudent management of the
Company`s resources including human resources;
·
Develop
overall communication and engagement programs for stakeholders;
·
Develop
and grow stakeholders relationships -advising and informing the board and
interfacing between board and staff;
·
Ensure
the company maintains high product quality, services and standards;
·
Formulating
and/or ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures;
·
Provide
effective mobilization and utilization of resources by overseeing management of
the financial, tax risk and facilities;
·
Prepare
and recommend yearly budget for Board approval and prudently manage resources
within those budget guidelines according to current policies and regulations.
·
Strategy
formulation, implementation and evaluation;
·
Perform
any other duties as allocated by the Board from time to time.
Core Competences and Skills: General Manager is
expected to display engaging leadership, strategic thinking, all round
Communication Skills, decisiveness, Initiative focus, Confidence, Team builder
and dairy Sector understanding.
Qualifications/Experience
·
Holder
of a Bachelor’s Degree in (Agribusiness/Business/Economics related);
·
At
least 10 years experience in agri-business sector;
·
Possession
of an MBA would be desirable;
·
Experience
working with small scale producers;
·
Good
business acumen and entrepreneurial spirit;
Position
Title: Senior Accountant
Department: Finance and Accounts
Reports
to: The General Manager
Supervises: Accountants
Hours
of Work: The job holder is required to
work beyond normal working hours with no overtime payment
Job
Overview: The Senior Accountant will provide
organizational financial direction and ensure proper guidance and policy
implementation on matters of accounts and finance are met.
The
job holder will be expected to demonstrate commitment and loyalty and perform
all duties in accordance with the organization’s office routines and
procedures, keeping in mind the overall business objectives.
Roles
and Responsibilities
·
Carry out day to day operations of
the accounts functions;
·
Supervise day to day running of accounting
and operations;
·
Preparation of monthly, quarterly and
annual financial reports;
·
Advise the board and assist the
managements on financial matters of the organisation;
·
Carry out the functions of budget
execution and prepare reports based on budget and actual performance regularly;
·
Facilitate and co-operate with
external auditor in liaison with the internal auditor to carry our external
auditing;
·
Co-ordinate finance committee
meetings and take minutes of the same;
·
Keep and maintain proper, timely and accurate
accounts and financial records;
·
Oversee the preparation of milk
payroll including all statutory requirements and perform milk payroll
reconciliations;
·
Make sure that there is compliance
with the relevant law and regulations and that IFRAS guidelines are followed in
accounting work;
·
Review and recommend modifications to
accounting systems and procedures;
·
Develop and document business
processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls;
·
Safe guard the organisation assets and
advice the organisation on matters of resource investment;
·
Perform other duties as assigned by
the General Manager from time to time.

Qualifications
/ Experience
·
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in
accounting/finance or CPA (K) is preferable
·
5 years experience with at least 3
years in a similar position;
·
Experience working in a busy office
set up;
Job
Title: FSA Accountant
Reports
to: Senior Accountant
Hours
of Work: The job holder is required to
work beyond normal working hours with no overtime payment
Job
Overview: Responsible to the Senior Accountant
for the forecasting of daily cash withdrawal demands, maintaining adequate
liquidity reserve, requisitioning and collecting cash from the commercial banks
and paying out cash to tellers for payment to the customers.
Roles
and Responsibilities
·
Maintain adequate liquidity reserve
in accordance with set rules and regulations;
·
Assist in organizing mobile banking
services as per market demands;
·
Distribute cash to tellers as
necessary and keep records of the same appropriately;
·
Supervise tellers to ensure they are
working according to instructions;
·
Receive, record, verify and bank
cheques for payment to members;
·
Receive and reconcile daily teller’s
reports;
·
Carry out complete surprise check of
each teller’s cash at least twice a month;
·
Prepare for daily deposits in the
commercial banks;
·
Prepare daily, weekly and cash
summaries and reports;
·
Keep custody of cheque books and be
responsible to the senior accountant for the drawing of all cheques;
·
Carry out any other duty connected
with cash transactions as instructed by Senior Accountant from time to time;
·
Maintaining the main ledgers,
preparing bank reconciliation statement, preparing income and expenditure
statement and trial balance on monthly basis.
·
Perform any other duties assigned to
you by the Senior Accountant or any authorized officer.
Qualifications
/ Experience
·
Bachelor’s degree in finance /
accounting / agri-business and C.P.A. III.
·
Proficiency in computer skills - MS
Office Suite;
·
Exposure to accounting packages like
sage or pastel;
·
3 years relevant experience in a
Sacco or Financial Services Organization.
