The Authority invites applications for the following position:
 
Temporary Procurement Assistant

1 Position


Contract Period: 
6 Months renewable on need basis



Reporting to the Procurement Officer, the selected candidate will be responsible for;
·                     Providing support in tender / request for quotation evaluation
·                     Following up the award decisions to ensure delivery of goods / services
·                     Raising and processing purchase/service orders.
·                     Ensuring procurement documents and records are maintained, safeguarded and archived as required by law.
·                     Assisting in monitoring inventory levels in order to raise purchase orders as may be necessary
·                     Following up with service providers on contract execution
·                     Performing any other duties as assigned from time to time
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
·                     Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing and Supply or a related field
·                     Member of the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM)
·                     Minimum of one year of relevant experience

Temporary Legal Assistant

1 Position

Contract Period: 6 Months renewable on need basis


Reporting to the Assistant Manager Licensing and Approvals, the selected candidate will be responsible for;
·                     Provide support in evaluation of prospectuses to ensure that the information to the public is accurate and complete and provides full disclosure of material facts.
·                     Support the unit in review of notices, announcements and advertisements by market intermediaries and listed companies and make recommendations of the suitability for publication.
·                     Liaise with the Market Supervision Department to carry out due diligence with regard to the appointment of proposed directors and key personnel of market intermediaries.
·                     Assisting in reviewing applications for licensing and license renewals for market institutions and intermediaries.
·                     Performing any other duties as assigned from time to time
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
·                     Bachelor’s degree in law
·                     Minimum of one year of relevant experience

Temporary Financial Analyst

1 Position

Contract Period: 6 Months renewable on need basis


Reporting to the Assistant Manager Financial Analyst, the selected candidate will be responsible for;

·                     Conducting analysis and examination of financial statements of listed companies prior to the listing of its securities at the Nairobi securities Exchange(NSE)
·                     Reviewing prospectuses for potential or actual material accounting or financial reporting deficiencies to ensure investors are provided with accurate information on which to base their investment decisions
·                     Providing support in analysis of financial statements submitted in support of applications by listed companies
·                     Maintaining and updating databases relating to financial data, including submission of accounts, publication of financial statements, summaries of financial analysis,
·                     Assisting in conducting inspections and investigations and give recommendations for the registration and licensing of companies to operate in the country’s securities market
·                     Performing any other duties as assigned from time to time
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
·                     Bachelor’s Degree in finance or business related.
·                     Professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CISA, CFA is an added advantage
·                     Minimum of one year of relevant experience

Graduate Trainees

Ten (10) Positions

As part of strengthening institutional capacity, the Authority intends to hire ten (10) Graduate Trainees. 

Online applications are invited from dynamic recent university graduates evidencing excellent performance and potential for development intofuture challenging roles in the Authority. 

This is a unique opportunity for trainees to gain a comprehensive appreciation of the critical perspectives and challenges in the capital markets sector.

The Graduate Trainee programme will run for a duration of two years with evaluations to confirm suitability for continued engagement to the end of the training period. 

The successful trainees will be considered for absorption into normal staff of the Authority subject to availability of vacancies at the end of the programme.

Interested candidates must meet the following criterion:


Minimum Requirements
·                     A minimum of Upper Second-class Relevant Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognized University;
·                     Demonstrable relevant leadership capabilities through roles undertaken at school or community level;
·                     Must have graduated within the last two years
·                     Be no more than 27 years of age; and
·                     Significant progress towards a professional qualification will be an added advantage.
Candidates will require to be available to work full time for the duration of the 2 year programme without exception.

Suitable candidates are likely to have graduated with a degree that would provide transferable skills to any of the following broad areas;
·                     Legal, Investigations & Enforcement;
·                     Economics (Including Agriculture economics), Finance & Business;
·                     Research, Statistics and Quantitative Analysis;
·                     Policy, Strategy and Project Management;
·                     Information & Communication Technology (ICT);
·                     Communications, Marketing and Public Relations;
·                     Engineering, Mathematics and Physics; and
·                     Any other area relevant to the above.
