Overall Objective:
 The Project Imports Coordinator will be expected to handle all importation documentation of a project including Duty/VAT exemption process and coordination with clearing and forwarding service providers.

Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for managing commercial terms of freight.
  • Responsible to arrange Duty and VAT exemption through the owner of project
  • Daily liaison with Ministry of Energy, Finance and others in relation with Imports Exemption documentation
  • Responsible for arranging and managing Customs Bonds.
  • Daily management and coordination of import shipments.
  • Ensure compliance with all import industry regulations.
  • Managing an import tracking system.
  • Tracking of imports orders from the source to the ports of destination and ensuring on time clearance.
  • Provide report on stock levels.
  • Identify and monitor key quality metrics (on time shipments) to drive improvement.
  • Co-ordinate efficient clearing and forwarding of all imports by sea or by air.
  • Managing inbound freight strategy.
  • Daily communication with customer on relevant issues and resolutions.
  • Ability to provide 24 hour response.
  • Prepare and publish daily, weekly reports.
  • Evaluate shipments, consolidate loads, and select most cost effective method of delivery.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing & Supplies
  • 15 – 20 years of experience working in imports/exports, logistics/supply chain.
  • Hands on Experience in duty/VAT exemption procedure including coordination with Energy and Finance ministry/treasury.
  • Candidates with previous work experience with C&F agents and EPC Contractors will be preferred
Skills
  • End to end imports Duty and VAT exemption import process experience is essential
  • Must have working knowledge of Cisco ERP.
  • Experience working in a construction firm will be advantageous.
  • Must have excellent customer focus, ability to work under pressure
