Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to discovering and promoting effective solutions to global poverty problems. 

In close partnership with decision makers -- the policymakers, practitioners, investors, and donors working with the poor around the world -- IPA designs and evaluates potential solutions to poverty problems using randomized evaluations, the most rigorous evaluation method available. 

We also mobilize and support these decision makers to use these solutions to build better programs and policies at scale.
 
Position Summary: The Office Cleaner, under the general supervision of the Operations Coordinator and the direct supervision of the Administrative Assistant and within the limits of Innovations for Poverty Action-Kenya policies and procedures, maintains office operations by maintaining office cleanliness; picking-up and delivering items and ensuring the office remains presentable at all times. Below is a list of some of the general duties and responsibilities of the Office cleaner, to be carried out as needed according to the determination of the supervisor.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
 
General office tasks:
 
Opening the office in the morning
 
Ensuring office cleanliness at all times. This includes:
  • dusting
  • sweeping
  • mopping
  • washroom cleaning
  • wall washing
  • window cleaning etc.
Preparing tea for the office
 
Ensuring that the office compound is clean and presentable at all times
 
Ensuring that drinking water is available at the office at all times
 
Offer messenger services when required, including post office visits
 
Responsible for reporting any breakages or damages in the office that require fixing, and ensuring that this has been fixed within reasonable time.
 
Weekly reporting to supervisor
 
Managing office supplies for tea preparation and cleaning products
 
Managing waste disposal in compliance with NEMA regulations
 
Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
