Internships Program Coordinator Job in Nairobi Kenya

Our Client, Viscar Industrial Capacity Ltd would like to fill a vacancy for an Internships Program Coordinator. 

Reports to: Managing Director
 
Job Location: Nairobi
 
Job Purpose: To provide a link between organisations and students with hands-on service opportunities and develop professionals from around the world.
 
Main Duties and responsibilities

  • Establish sustained and mutually beneficial relationships with hiring partners, to grow students placements and create ongoing opportunities for recruiting and internship positions;
  • Market internships to students, in coordination with career services in knowledge institutions;
  • Support host organization on student’s recruitment efforts such as researching and reaching out to potential organizations, responding to inquiries and preparing partnership proposals;
  • Physically and virtually coordinating events involving careers and students placement program including orientation programs as well as recruitment events;
  • Support Viscar Internship program application process, this include reviewing applications, interviewing and vetting candidates, and support the process of placing fellows to host organizations;
  • Develop and research on new application systems for candidate sourcing including digital media job search engines such as using tools like LinkedIn and others;
  • Manage students internship development opportunities including on job learning, skills training and others;
  • Helps track and document completion of  the internship program work plan activities
  • Monitors/Manages  projects according to plan, measures and raises concerns or risks, as appropriate with limited supervision;
  • Develops the projects budgets, policies and processes in consultation with the supervisor;
  • Collect data on the interns placement and perform analysis to assist in preparing, portfolio, program or project progress reports;
  • To deliver desired/required communications to the stakeholders for projects of low complexity with limited supervision.
Job Specifications
  • Relevant Bachelors degree
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Consulting firm, University placement or other related work set up
  • Ability to lead projects working in a matrix environment
  • Excellent time management, communication, presentation, and organizational skills
  • Detail oriented, analytical and a self-starter
  • Proficient using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
