Job Overview / Summary:
 Global Service Desk is looking for detailed, and serf-motivated candidate to join multicultural, global service desk in support 5,000+ users. 

Only experienced candidates with a great analytical and problem-solving abilities, with strong customer-service orientation, able to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment shall apply.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, troubleshoot and resolved technical problems; respond to telephone calls, emails and user request for technical request utilizing ServiceNow ticketing system.
  • Escalate more complex calls to the relevant IT engineer, or third-party support vendor.
  • Relies on Knowledgebase and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job; research and document solutions to newly identified problems.
  • Respond to service tickets and requests for local desktop support and remote desktop support to meet service level agreement
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, application, network, user access or related issues
  • properly triage escalation of the complex issues to the next level support
  • manage user accounts (creation, termination, changes)
  • Accountable for the successful resolutions of all customer requests
  • Assist in managing network resources, including access to file shares, printers, phone system)
  • Implement patches and corrective actions needed to mitigate security access
  • Test and image desktops and laptops as required
  • Support audio/visual/computer equipment as needed for conference or meeting setups
  • Take ownership of user problems in order to meet SLA.
  • Maintain inventory of IT loaner computers, and computer peripherals, and toners.
Job Requirements:

Formal Education & Certification
  • 3+ years of related experience assisting end users in helpdesk or desktop support environment
  • Experience with AD, O365, MS Office 2013, remote tools, Windows 7 (80%) and MAC environment (20%)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.
  • Lifting and transporting of heavy to moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals.
  • Microsoft certification and computer related classes are big plus

Health Team Leader - Kakuma

Job Purpose / Objective:
 Under the supervision of the Field coordinator, the Heath Team Leader shall be responsible for the overall designing and implementation of the health program that encompasses Nutrition, RH/HIV, CHP, WPE, Safe Programming and Clinical Services sectors. 

S/he will also be responsible for implementation of evidence based primary health care service delivery. 

He/she shall be expected to monitor and ensure improvement and maintenance of the entire health indicators as per SPHERE/UNHCR/WHO standards at the Camp.

Key Responsibilities


Program Planning, Implementation and Evaluation:
  • Work with IRC Kenya Senior Management team to ensure Kakuma health program objectives are achieved;
  • Prepare health proposals and budgets in partnership with Field coordinator, Health Coordinator, Clinical services, Nutrition, WPE, SP, CHP and RH/HI managers.
  • Ensure appropriate monitoring and evaluation systems are in place for all health sectors in the camp;
  • Ensure that health provision is in line with accepted SPHERE and National guidelines for all sectors
  • Maintain accurate and up to date health profile of Kakuma refugees and respond in timely fashion to any infectious or epidemic disease outbreaks;
  • Prepare monthly reports to UNHCR and actively assist the IRC senior management in preparation of health related donor reports.
  • Initiate technical evaluations, surveys and situation analysis as required
Operations:
  • Overall responsible for commodity security for drugs and hospital supplies;
  • Oversee the implementation of safe-motherhood and reproductive health activities, including ANC, delivery care, PNC, and FP.
  • Provide close technical support to HIV AIDS program area, regarding design and implementation of a comprehensive HIV program in Kakuma, to include VCT, PITC, OI prophylaxis and ARV provision;
  • Provision of overall development and management of clinical and training protocol/ guidelines;
  • Authorize medical evacuation of staff;
  • Monitor usage of IRC health supplies and assets in accordance with donor regulations;
  • Assist in the recommendation of promotions, disciplinary action and termination of health staff to the Field coordinator.
Finance and Grant Management
  • Ensure budget spending according to approved budgets, review and analyse budgets versus actual expenditures and take remedial measures;
  • Facilitate grant opening meetings and BVA meetings
  • Recommend appropriate budget revisions to ensure maximum use of financial resources;
  • Provide overall leadership and supervise health program staff in development and implementation of procurement and spending plans.
Communication Representation and Reporting:
  • Represent IRC in all inter-agency coordination and technical meetings in kakuma and Nairobi;
  • Enhance coordination and working relationship with the Ministry of Health and other Implementing partners
  • Keep the IRC senior management team up-to-date on all developments in the field.
  • Lead and facilitate donor visits and other missions
Human Resources
  • Directly supervise Clinical Services manager, Community Health Program manager, HIV/AIDS manager, Nutrition Manager, SP and WPE managers.
  • In coordination with the Field Coordinator, determine health program staffing needs and assure such positions are filled in timely fashion;
  • Directly responsible for IRC staff health and medical evacuations.
  • Ensure that staffs in the entire health department have updated job descriptions and performance objectives.
Required qualifications
  • University Degree in Health related field.
  • A Master’s degree in Public Health will be desirable
  • Over five years of field work experience on comprehensive primary health programs in resource poor settings. 
  • Experience in refugee camp settings will be an added advantage.

Nutrition Manager - Research

Job Purpose / Objective: The IRC is leading a multi-agency program of operational research to develop a combined protocol for the treatment of severe and moderate acute malnutrition (Combined Protocol for Acute Malnutrition Study- ComPAS). 

The ‘Combined Protocol’ will be piloted in two countries: South Sudan and Kenya. The IRC is recruiting a NutritionManager- RESEARCH  to manage the day to day  research study implementation and data collection supervision in Kenya.

The research is funded by OFDA and CIFF, implemented by the IRC in Kenya and Action Against Hunger-USA in South Sudan and supported by the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. In Kenya the research will be implemented in Nairobi county.

As part of the global ComPAS research team and working under the guidance and supervision of the IRC Nutrition Coordinator while working closely with IRC nutrition Specialist in HIB incharge of ComPASS, the Nutrition  Manager- Research will be  overallyresponsible for  upervisioning  of Nutrition  Officers- research performing data collection at 12 health facilities in Nairobi County. 

S/he will work closely with the Nutrition Research Officers team to ensure high-quality quantitative and qualitative data collection and reporting of research study data by training and supervising Officers on treatment and study protocol and implementation as well as building their capacity for critical-thinking research skills and use of mhealth data collection tools. 

The Nutrition Research manager will provide both on-site and remote supervision through on the job training and coaching and performing data audits to monitor accuracy and maintenance of research indicators. 

S/he will also work closely with Officers to maintain records of ComPAS research study supply and support pre-positioning efforts. 

Alongside the Officers and Research Coordinator, s/he will also build and maintain strong relationships with implementing partners and MoH at the sub-county level.  

Upon successful completion of the research study enrollment and data collection, the Nutrition Research Manager will contribute to the data analysis, write-up and editing, as required for publishing academic articles, briefing papers, case studies, etc.

Key Responsibilities:

Research
  • Supervise and coordinate the implementation and monitoring of the ComPAS research project in line with research protocol, proposal targets and work plan timelines
  • Promote strict adherence to ComPAS research protocol by stakeholders through effective communication to Nutrition Research Officers, clinic facility staff and enrolled patients
  • Coordinate with Research Coordinator to develop training curricula and study implementation plans
  • Act as mHealth focal point; maintain data collection and data quality management procedures at all times
  • Conduct data audits based on agreed methodology(s) including surveys, process monitoring, and other rapid methods
  • Coordinate with Research Coordinator, MoH and other implementing partners to ensure maximum effectiveness of the research study
Human Resources
  • Participate in hiring and training of 12 Nutrition Research Officers; provide continuous on the job training and coaching as necessary; build Officers’ capacity to support non-ComPAS project staff (clinic staff, CHWs, etc.) 
  • Provide direct and routine supervision of Research Officers; monitor performance according to their job description and provide oral and written feedback in a timely manner
  • Review personnel issues and concerns of research staff; determine and implement solutions, escalate issues to Research Coordinator and assist with determining and implementing solutions
  • Responsible for day to day management including leave planning ensuring that there is proper coverage while staff are on leave
Supply Chain
  • Work with the supply chain team to develop accurate and timely supply orders
  • Support Officers’ to monitor utilization of ComPAS research study issued nutrition supplies; monitor and track ComPAS assets
  • Review of all CoMPASS nutrition program purchase requisitions working with the supply teams ensuring that procurement plans are in place and effectively used.
  • Responsible for adequate nutrition supplies at the facilities and study cites
Monitoring and Reporting
  • Using the mHealth platform and on-site audits, closely monitor research data to ensure accuracy, quality and alignment with study indicators; provide immediate corrective action/instruction to minimize error 
  • Attend and/or host ComPAS research project meetings
  • Keep Nutrition Coordinator/Research Coordinator informed on all developments through regular reports
Finance and grant management
  • Track ComPAS budget expenses and do routine budget analysis and tracking of expenditure
  • Ensure expenditures are timely and in line with donor expectation and guidelines
Other
  • Perform any other duty as directed by the supervisor
Key Result Areas:
  • Successful implementation of ComPAS research study as per the proposal targets and work plan timelines
  • Capacity building of Research Officers; promotion of critical-thinking research skills and culture of responsibility and detail-oriented work among officers
  • Accuracy of ComPAS research study data as per the research data collection protocols; collection, input, and analysis
  • Timely supply and/or pre-positioning of ComPAS research study supplies to study sites
  • Timely submission of ComPAS study related reports
  • Representation of IRC at internal and external meetings, forums, presentations etc.
Required Qualifications:
  • MUST have a Bachelor’s degree in nutrition dietetics
  • Masters in Public Health Nutrition preferred.
  • MUST be a registered by KNDI
Required Experience & Competencies:
  • Technical understanding of CMAM required; a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in nutrition, public health, nutrition planning and management and/or in relevant areas of infant and child health/nutrition care at program management level required
  • Minimum 2 years in nutrition-related research, designing and/or implementing nutrition research studies or evaluations required, experience with RCTs preferred
  • Knowledge in mHealth data collection software and platforms; experience troubleshooting electronic data collection issues strongly preferred
  • Strong analytical skills, sound judgment and the capacity to think and plan strategically, including the ability to produce high quality implementation plans
  • Excellent communication skills; demonstrated patience and effective leadership in communicating new topics to diverse audiences; experience providing job coaching or on the job training
  • Familiarity with Nairobi County nutrition programs and partners preferred
  • Ability to work with considerable flexibility (for example: outside business hours in urban areas)

S/he will also work closely with clinic facility (MoH) staff and provide logistics and technical support on the implementation of the standard or Combined Protocol, patient record-keeping, patient follow-up, and community outreach.

The Nutrition Research Officer will be expected to strictly adhere to research protocol, communicate effectively to clinic facility staff and enrolled patients, and maintain data quality and data management procedures at all times.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in refresher IMAM and original ComPAS research protocol training including CommCare; demonstrate understanding IMAM protocols.
  • Work with ComPAS research team, sub-county MoH and local community leaders to acquire community-level consent prior to the start of the research study
  • Assist with community sensitization and screening to recruit study participants
  • Maintain a professional relationship with clinic (non-ComPAS research) staff; provide on the job training, coaching and mentoring in order to communicate study protocol procedures and CMAM best practice where appropriate
  • Daily, work with clinic staff at clinic site to recruit children to the study, enroll children based on study enrollment criteria and procedures; obtain informed consent from caregiver to collect and store personal information
  • Daily, implement ComPAS research study data collection procedures; record all enrollments and weekly follow-up data (anthropometrics, household data, personal and medical history, etc.) to electronic tablets using mHealth software
  • Daily, when available, assist clinic staff with providing and recording treatment for acute malnutrition
  • Daily, upload data to online mHealth platform
  • Daily, alongside clinic staff, monitorprogress ofstudy participants; ensure appropriate concurrent medical treatment, follow-up, referral, and discharge
  • Communicate key combined or standard protocol messages to caretakers of enrolled children, and ensure it is delivered appropriately in order to promote adherence
  • Organize four-month follow-up with caretakers of enrolled children and community health workers
  • Perform periodic data audits independently and with supervisor
  • Maintain record of ComPAS research study supply; take stock of supplies that need to be replenished and work with the research Supervisor/Coordinator to pre-position
  • Plan and conduct mass MUAC screening of the under fives on a quarterly basis in collaboration with the community health workers and clinic outreach planning
  • Coordinate meetings with IRC and sub-county MoH officials to update on study progress and share interim results
  • Represent IRC in nutrition coordination meetings within the sub-county among implementing partners and other nutrition /health related forums.
  • Attend scheduled ComPAS research team meetings and one-on-one meetings with supervisor(s)
  • Immediately report any issues or problems to the Research Manager and/or Coordinator
  • Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor(s)
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree in Food, Nutrition and Dietetics from a recognized University.
  • Must be a registered nutrition or dietitian KNDI
  • Additional research qualification or experience
Required Experience & Competencies:
  • Technical understanding of CMAM required; minimum 1 year work experience in providing treatment for acute malnutrition.
  • Minimum 1 year work experience in public health research, preferably in nutrition, community health, or child health
  • Prior experience with mHealth data collection platforms, preferably CommCare
