Position: Actuarial Assistants

Purpose of the Position: Ensure implementation of Medical Insurance best practice guidelines to enable smooth administration of medical schemes and achieve customer satisfaction. 

Key Performance Areas:
  • Medical quotations
  • Scheme Renewals invitation as they fall due
  • Statistical analysis
  • Policy maintenance
  • Product development.
Duties Include:
  • Ensure accurate set up of scheme limits and premium rates in the system
  • Monitor Set up and management of membership database in the system
  • Ensure monthly production of debits and credit notes.
  • Monitor the member underwriting process of retail policies including issuance of acceptance / decline letters, welcome letter.
  • Ensuring that premium report is prepared accurately and within the required turnaround
  • Monitor and ensure that renewals are sent out and follow up for renewal confirmations in liaison with marketing team.
  • Ensure Preparation and issuance of policy documents and endorsements within the required turnaround.
  • Work with the marketing team and continuously enhance existing medical products to ensure product competitiveness against evolving market and product trends
  • Support marketing in business acquisition, staff presentations to members of staff, health talks and medical camps
  • Liaison with intermediaries and clients on day to day service issues relating to medical
  • Provide other reports as may be required by management e.g. performance vs. target,
  • Advise department on terms of cover for new and renewal business to enable proper underwriting and claims processing.
  • Supporting marketing team in Product development by identifying the consumer needs and developing required products and enhancements.
  • Standardization of all the underwriting process and monitoring TAT’s.
  • Initiate continuous review and enhancements of underwriting processes and manuals with reference to best practices in the line of business.
  • Ensuring all the underwriting documents are filed for easy retrieval and reference.
  • Guide team and work with marketing team for preparation of medical booklets and scheme benefit summary to clients.
  • Evaluate any possible risk exposures and make recommendations on how to mitigate them.
  • Assist with pricing of new and renewal businesses.
  • Work closely with accounting section and assist on prompt premium payment, third party administration fund/fees and collection of excesses.
Level of Education & Experience
  • Graduate with a degree Actuarial Science or with a bias in Mathematics, over 3 years relevant experience,
  • Good understanding of the concepts of Medical Insurance
  • Mature, team player with supervisory skills
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft office suite and packages

Overall Purpose of the Job: The purpose of this position is to perform financial matters relating to Accounts Payable department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receiving, verifying, coding and posting of creditor’s invoices in readiness for payment.
  • Payment processing.
  • Reconcile creditor’s outstanding balances before payment is done.
  • Prepare periodic payment reports-Daily payment reports and monthly payment plan.
  • Prepare Statutory Payments
  • Prepare the end month postings.
  • Analyze various accounts assigned.
  • Record keeping
Key Performance Measures:
  • Completeness and accuracy of the posted invoices.
  • Vet Payments as per the set conditions
  • Error free reconciliations against provider reports.
  • Major accounts reconciliations and account analysis as per set time table.
  • Complete and accurate periodic payment reports.
  • All regulator’s returns submitted as per the timeliness
  • Complete and accurate end month postings.
  • Safe keeping of documentation of invoices and other relevant material.
Level of Education & Experience:
  • Undergraduate degree
  • Professional qualification: CPA(K) or ACCA

Overall purpose of the job: The senior manager will be tasked with delivering the overall revenue targets for the business on retention and growth; execute the company corporate brand strategy; improve our customer experience while ensuring customer relation programs are well executed.
 
The key responsibilities of the position:
  • Developing and implementing the company marketing & communication plan
  • Developing a customer service excellence strategy and manage the existing customer feedback system to ensure high level of clients retention
  • Execution of the brand strategy for clinic and emergency rescue business to ensure maximum brand awareness and visibility

Position Requirements:
  • BCOM Marketing or Business Related degree
  • MBA is an added advantage
  • Professional training and Membership to the relevant professional bodies (eg. CIM, MSK)
  • Experience in a sales and marketing function for at least 5 years, 3 of which should be at senior management level.
  • Must have been a senior manager in a credible service organization for a minimum of 3 years.

The key responsibilities of the position:
  • Direct Selling of Products and Services
  • Prepare weekly activities schedule for planned prospects and activities, call or visit and write an after sale report.
  • Prepare a written after sale report and send it to the Health Centre Manager by the end of each week.
  • Maintain proper record of prospects made, activities undertaken activations done and give a written report every month.
  • Follow up on all services queries for the signed up clients, plan and attend service meeting, address and provide timely feedback.
  • Communicate escalated customer sales / issues to the Health Centre Manager.
  • Provide quarterly market intelligence report to the management.
Education and Experience:
  • Diploma in sales / business related Course
  • Degree holder in a Sales or Marketing course will have an added advantage.
  • At least 1 year of appropriate experience in sales and marketing.
  • Membership with MSK or any other related professional body will be an added advantage.
