Position: Human Resource Officer 
Location: Nairobi
Job scope: to execute human resource function.
  • Implementing HR policies, procedures and standards
  • Staff recruitment and placement with regard to preparation of role profiles, adverts and receipt of the job applications;
  • Maintain Performance Management records;
  • Develop with line managers staffing and training needs for staff;
  • Plan, and sometimes deliver training – including inductions for new staff;
  • Prepare staff handbooks and review the Human Resource policy as need arises;
  • Review and implement policies on issues like working conditions, performance management, equal opportunities, disciplinary procedures and absence management;
  • Advise on pay and other remuneration issues, including promotion and benefits;
  • Account for the payroll and personnel records to determine employment insurance premiums, workers’ compensation coverage, liabilities, and compliance with tax laws.
  • Interpret and advise on employment law;
  • Deal with grievances and implementing disciplinary procedures
The holder of this position requires the following qualifications:
  • A degree in Human Resource Management or related qualifications;
  • Have satisfactorily served as  Human Resource Officer  or a comparable position with similar responsibilities for a minimum of two (2) years; and
  • Strong planning and organizing skills; and
  • Ability to work in a logical, systematic manner
