Position: Human Resource Officer
Location: Nairobi
Job
scope: to
execute human resource function.
Responsibilities.
- Implementing
HR policies, procedures and standards
- Staff
recruitment and placement with regard to preparation of role profiles,
adverts and receipt of the job applications;
- Maintain
Performance Management records;
- Develop
with line managers staffing and training needs for staff;
- Plan,
and sometimes deliver training – including inductions for new staff;
- Prepare
staff handbooks and review the Human Resource policy as need arises;
- Review
and implement policies on issues like working conditions, performance
management, equal opportunities, disciplinary procedures and absence
management;
- Advise
on pay and other remuneration issues, including promotion and benefits;
- Account
for the payroll and personnel records to determine employment insurance
premiums, workers’ compensation coverage, liabilities, and compliance with
tax laws.
- Interpret
and advise on employment law;
- Deal
with grievances and implementing disciplinary procedures
The
holder of this position requires the following qualifications:
- A
degree in Human Resource Management or related qualifications;
- Have
satisfactorily served as Human Resource Officer or a
comparable position with similar responsibilities for a minimum of two (2)
years; and
- Strong
planning and organizing skills; and
- Ability
to work in a logical, systematic manner
