Job Description
  • Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines
  • Assist with the implementation of the support function portfolio according to plan of action
  • Prepare and develop status reports as required by management
  • Ensure proper filing of documents
  • Promote and share ideas for improvement of the support function
  • Verify that all vouchers and supporting documents are according to standard set in the Financial Handbook, and enter them into the accounting system.
  • Follow up on advances and refunds
  • Prepare and arrange bank withdrawals and transfers and present for verification.
  • Record all cash movements
  • Prepare periodic financial reports and submit for review
  • Maintain the filling system for all financial and accounting for approval
  • Make approved payments
Qualifications
  • Diploma in Finance/Accounting. Bachelors degree preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA), level 2
  • Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in a donor grants management role

Job Description

  • Supervise packing, loading and unloading of all materials
  • Ensure availability of storage space and maintain orderliness and cleanliness of the warehouse at all times
  • Ensure safety and security of materials while immediately report losses, damages or discrepancies
  • Prepare periodic stock reports and assist in carrying out periodic inventory audits
  • Ensures flow and continuity of materials and supplies to ensure effective operation and beneficiary Support.
  • Enters accurately and in concise manner all data relating to the items which are in the store – this involves the use of stock cards, good received notes, waybills, stock request forms
  • To provide assistance in any spot checks carried out by management, in providing data so that verification can be carried out as per logistics handbook
  • Ensure adherence to NRC Assets and Inventory management (registration, control and tracking) system is exercised and assist / support on its implementation.

  • Distribute/organize transport of material and equipment according to procedures
  • Prepare documents as required by line manager.
  • Ensure store is kept clean and tidy.
  • Ensure physical stock count is done at the end of every month.
  • Ensure stock cards and ledger books are duly filled and updated.
  • Any other assignment as may be required by the Logistics Officer or Coordinator
  • Conduct regular assets / inventory items’ tracking checks while ensuring that the tracking system is effective
  • Ensure there is proper communication between NRC departments related to assets & inventory items’ movements; asset & inventory items transfers and changes are well monitored and documented and proper control of all equipment at all times is in effect.
  • Working with the all staff, ensure that a detailed inventory of all IT equipment is properly established, maintained, and updated for Gaziantep and Cross Border Operations
Qualifications
  • Experience from working as a Warehouse Clerk/Assistant in a humanitarian/recovery context
  • Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
  • Diploma in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, or business administration

The Regional HR Coordinator (Talent Scouting) works in collaboration with the Regional HR team on talent recruitments for the region and other HR functions. May be required to act for the Regional HR Adviser and supervise other staff within the department.
 
Job Description
  • Implement NRC’s HR systems/projects and procedures in the region for both national and international staff
  • Coordinate staff recruitments, introductions and exits. By doing so, support line managers in drafting job descriptions/ToRs for new international and senior national positions
  • Draft and publish job announcements and carry out initial sorting of the applications/CVs and submit the long list to the recruiting line manager for short listing
  • Manage initial communications with the candidates and between the candidates and the recruiting line managers
  • Support on preparation of national staff pay roll

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management
  • Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
  • Knowledge about own manager skills/profile
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal

Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) has been present in Somalia since early 2004 and has since expanded its Horn of Africa Programme to Kenya in 2006 and to Ethiopia in 2011. 

Since 2004, the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) has demonstrated a regional competence and expertise in working with displaced populations.

The Regional Office is based in Nairobi, Kenya with offices and operations in Somalia (Puntland, Somaliland and Mogadishu), Kenya (Dadaab and Kakuma ), Ethiopia (Addis Ababa, Dolo Ado, Shire,Gambella and Asosa), South Sudan (Juba, Awil, Alek and Aweril) and Yemen (Sa’naa and Aden).

The NRC Horn of Africa & Yemen mission is an expanding programme. NRC started its operations in Kenya in the refugee camps in Dadaab in February 2007. 

NRC has WASH, Shelter, Education, Food Security and Livelihood and Information Counseling and Legal Assistant programmes implemented in the refugee camps in Dadaab. 

NRC is seeking to recruit Hair Dressing and Beauty Therapy skills Teacher. The Hair Dressing and Beauty Therapy skills Teacher will implement YEP prescribed Vocational Training curriculum in Hair dressing and beauty therapy skill within the project timeline. 

The Skill teacher will work under the direct guidance of the Education Project Officer and Overall supervision of Education Project Coordinator. 

Job Description
  • Plan and implement instructional activities for the students as per the syllabus to ensure active and meaningful learning experience
  • Preparing and maintain teacher professional records not limited to schemes of work, lesson plans, lesson notes, record of work covered and other records
  • Maintain current students’ attendance records and make them readily available to the supervisor
  • Preparing and using learning aids to deliver the prescribed curriculum.
  • Assess and evaluate students continuously as per the training program requirements and maintain students’ progress records.
  • Provide feedback to parents and project officer on pupil’s progress during education forums and report forms
  • Responsible for the Registration and conduction of National Examinations for his Learners.
  • Make certain that course syllabus is completed in time
  • Report for duty and lessons on time as required by the organization policy
  • Prepare and maintain updated inventory of training resources assigned
  • Ensure that safety precautions are observed in the workshop always

Job Description
  • Ensure that the project activities are implemented in accordance with approved proposals, NRC policies and standards and donor requirements.
  • Understand the situation, including the legal situation according to national and international laws and principles for refugees and returnees.
  • Provide information and counseling to refugees expressing an intention to return to South Central Somalia in a factual and impartial manner.
  • Ability to conduct surveys and gather data/information at the field level in an accurate and sensitive manner.
  • Assist in conducting needs assessment of the target group. Documenting the results and recommend interventions in line with the project purpose.
  • Translation of information leaflets in to the Somali language. Assist with the development of these leaflets.
  • Assist in conducting research as required.
  • Assist in design of surveys/questionnaires to assess the needs requirement of the target group.
  • In collaboration with partners, plan an effective and mutually beneficial capacity building project, with the aim of developing and sharing knowledge, skills and attitudes in line with best practices in ICLA.
  • Identify possible interventions at the field level for ICLA activities to address gaps and needs.
  • Make recommendations on the way project activities can be amended or improved to best meet the set objectives.
  • Work closely with other agencies involved in the voluntary returns process at the field level, establishing effective coordination and relations.
  • Work closely with UNHCR and the Department of Refugee Affairs (DRA) at field level.
  • Compiling and drafting of daily,monthly, quarterly, and annual field reports.
  • Any other duty assigned to you by your immediate supervisor
Qualifications
  • University degree in law, political science or other relevant discipline. Diploma with experience will be considered.
  • Minimum 3 years humanitarian experience with refugees/internally displaced persons (IDPs) at field level with an NGO or other international organization.
  • Proven experience of legal, judicial and protection mechanisms.
  • Experience of monitoring and evaluation mechanisms and tools.
  • Fluent in speaking and written Somali and English language. Knowledge of Kiswahili is an asset.
