Job
Purpose: Our
Client in the Renewable Energy Sector is sourcing for a Sales Manager Projects
who will be responsible for:
To grow the Company’s sales of larger-scale solar thermal and photovoltaic (PV) systems projects on a nation-wide basis and meet monthly sales and collection targets

To
support the sale of custom made thermal and PV systems through the retail
channel
To
work closely with the Technical Manager for design of systems, proposal writing
and customer acquisition so as to maximize sales and customer satisfaction.

- Target
the following segments for ‘solar thermal sales’

Builders and developers
2.
Hotels, resorts, and home-stays
3.
Hospitals, clinics and educational institutions
4.
Individuals building houses
- To
forecast project sales accurately
- To
use your network to develop your own leads directly for the company
- To
work closely with Orb Energy branches and the sales support team to source
leads
- To
handle all sales enquiries and leads in a conscientious and expeditious
manner
- To
provide daily reporting to the VP-Africa according to the designated
template
- To
meet monthly, quarterly, and annual retail revenue and collection targets
and grow sales month by month
- To
identify attractive sales areas for projects and work with the marketing
team to design and implement marketing initiatives for specific target groups
- To
work closely with the PV / Thermal technical teams on system design,
proposal writing, installation, and service
- To
work with marketing to roll-out targeted, segment-wise mass mailers, SMS
campaigns, etc for lead generation
- To
be the focal point where required for all government relations / projects
- To
identify potential tenders and submit proposals for tenders – both for PV
and Thermal
- To
manage the direct sales team for Nairobi sales of solar water heating
systems, and to meet monthly sales and collection targets from Nairobi for
this product category
Qualifications
- 8-10
years senior managerial sales experience
- Earlier
hands-on sales experience selling products of high unit value
- Displays
strong, clear communication and written skills
- A
real self-starter, able to take initiative and operate independently
- Strong
commercial understanding and ability to negotiate effectively with clients
- Can
present himself / herself well and properly represent the company
- Aggressive
sales management with a strong record of exceeding sales targets
- Solid
technical understanding
- MBA is preferred
