Job Title: Stocks Accountant

Context / Scope: This role works closely with the Finance team, Empties and Full Supervisors, Logistics Manager, SSC Financial Accountant, Organisation’s Tax Manager, Sales / SOP Accountant, Internal Auditors, Partners team, External Auditors and Consultants.

Market Complexity: Achievement of reasonable returns to providers of
capital requires that volumes and market share must be grown and productions
costs must be reduced whilst improving production, sales and distribution
efficiencies.
This calls for effective budgetary
and financial control systems that monitor management effectives in controlling
costs, achieving optimum volume and revenue growth and market share whilst
ensuring efficient utilization of capital.
Such systems should produce timely
and accurate management financial information on a monthly and annual basis to
meet management requirements and satisfy all legal and accounting standards.
It is critical that reconciliations are prepared accurately and within the set deadline to ensure the company does not lose funds through improper accounting procedures.
Other complexities include mitigating
against holding uneconomical stocks and ensuring correct valuation to books.
Leadership Responsibilities: This position works within the Accounting team
responsible for stocks control and reconciliation.
Purpose of Role: To
ensure that there is accurate and up to date stocks control and reconciliation
in addition to supporting the LBU finance team in Performance Analysis,
Improvement of systems and procedures as well as invoicing third parties.
Accountabilities

- Accounting for inventory – performing product
costing and end month inventory valuation
- Preparing monthly reconciliation of finished
goods, wips and empties between the ledger and IC (to assure existence of
internal controls to safeguard and prevent fraud in the stocks and
returns)
- Accounting for monthly and annual summary of
empties and cases closing stocks as well as providing provisions to cater
for damaged cases.
- Invoicing third party contractors as well as
verification of invoices against deliveries as well as computing variances
and allocating values.
- Costing to verify the reasonability and
accuracy of cost accumulation for imported beers and production materials.
Qualifications and Experience
Required:
Qualifications:
- Bcom degree (Accounting Option)
- Accountant (ACCA Part II or CPA 2)
Experience:
- 3 years relevant experience preferably within
the FMCG sector
- Knowledge of International Accounting
Standards and International Financial Reporting Standards.
- Knowledge of accounting and computer packages,
e.g. Sun, SAP, Sales Order Processing (SOP), Purchase Order Processing
(POP) etc
