Person Specification

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Diploma in a relevant field
  • Product knowledge for the construction industry
  • 2 years sales experience in the construction industry
  • Good command of both Swahili and English
  • KCSE C+
  • Sales and marketing training is an added advantage

  • Courteous with excellent communication & negotiation skills.
  • Exceptional analytical skills.
  • Excellent commercial acumen coupled with a business development track record
  • Ability to drive account performances whilst delivering cost effective results
  • Self-motivated, flexible and open to change.
  • Proven strong leadership, planning, organising, reporting and networking skills.
  • An excellent team builder and motivator who will thrive on working closely with the team to achieve challenging but exciting targets
  • A natural communicator with excellent negotiation, persuasive, presentation and interpersonal skills at all levels.
  • Highly driven with enthusiasm to meet high sales targets and to cope under demanding pressure
  • Trustworthy, professional and reliable when dealing with confidential information
Computer skills: High proficiency in IT.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
  • Searching for new clients for the company’s products and services and maximising client experience by satisfying their needs in terms of quality, price and delivery
  • Developing long-term relationships with clients through managing and interpreting their requirements
  • Managing and interpreting customer requirements
  • Negotiating and closing sales by agreeing terms and conditions
  • Providing pre-sales technical assistance, product education and after-sales support services
  • Making technical presentations and demonstrating how a product meets client needs
  • Liaising with other members of the sales team and other technical experts to facilitate meeting regular sales targets and coordinating sales projects;
  • Helping in the design of custom-made products;
  • Providing training and producing support material for other members of the sales team.
