Intern Job in Kenya – Finance (NGO)

ACTED (Agency for Technical Cooperation and Development) is a non-governmental organization created in 1993.

ACTED’s vocation is to support vulnerable populations worldwide and to accompany them in the construction of a better future. 

The programmes implemented by ACTED in Africa, Asia, Middle East and Latin America/Caribbean, aim at addressing the needs of the populations affected by wars, natural catastrophes and/or economical and social crisis. 

ACTED has been present in Uganda since 2007, and currently implements its interventions in Gulu, Anaka, (Acholi regions) as well as in ‘Nakapiripirit (Karamoja region) where the organization works on a cross-border basis with North Pokot District of Kenya.

Job Title: 
Finance Intern 

Reporting to: 
Finance and Administration Assistant

Duty Station: Kapenguria

Duties and Responsibilities;
  • Respect and follow-up the ACTED’s financial procedures;
  • Support in filling and records management in both finance and admin.
  • Support in entering financial operation in accounting software if necessary.
  • Assist the finance/Admin Assistant in his daily tasks.
  • Photocopying documents for FLAT folders.
  • Follow up on both Finance and Admin red cell games.
  • Any other responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time.
Contract period: 6 months

Qualifications & Experience:
  • University degree in business administration, finance or accounting;
  • 1 year work experience in the Finance, audit sector;
  • Analytical skills;
  • Strong personality, ability to withstand pressure and produce objective reports;
  • Commitment and honesty, and a passion for improving transparency and accountability within the organization as an absolute requirement. Ability to coordinate with other department.
  • Highly motivated and ability to work with culturally diverse groups of people.
  • She/he should be a resident of Kapenguria.
