Our Client, an international, non-sectarian organization which promotes an innovative value-based approach to peace building is seeking to recruit a Programme Officer who will be responsible for supporting the Organization Development Director (US based), and the Kenya team on research, monitoring & evaluation of the programme to ensure that programme goals and objectives are achieved.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supporting
the company director in Resource Development efforts e.g. Preparation of
concepts notes and proposals to potential funders/donors;
- Maintaining
a filing system and database for managing research and documentation;
including concept notes, project proposals, project agreements, contracts
among others
- Support
in research for the organization initiative in Kenya
- Supporting
the Kenya team in designing, implementing and monitoring the organization
programme.
- Implementation
educational initiatives e.g. facilitating trainings and workshops in
collaboration with programme partners;
- Gathering
feedback from community members on areas crucial for community
development, which may be incorporated into the training manuals.
- Supporting
in delivery of weekly and quarterly reports in a timely and qualitative
fashion.
Requirements:
- Bachelors’
degree in Community Development or related field is preferred
- Minimum
2 years relevant field experience is preferred
- Computer
skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office
- Excellent
communication skills; written and verbal communication in English,
including web based communications required
- Must
have adequate experience in developing concept notes, and funding
proposals
- Administrative
and operational management skills for project monitoring and programme
management;
- Excellent
interpersonal skills, ability to work within a multicultural environment.
- Team
building capability.
- Capacity
to take initiative and demonstrate good judgment.
- Superior
multi-tasking skills with the ability to coordinate, prioritize and
organize workload, meet deadlines and work under pressure with minimal
supervision.
Terms of appointment:
The
position is on an initial three (3) month renewable contract subject to satisfactory
performance.
The
person must be available to start as soon as possible.
