Monitoring & Evaluation Officer Job in Dadaab Kenya


The Danish Refugee Council has been providing relief and development services in the Horn of Africa region since 1997. 

The DRC Kenya Program seeks to fill the following position to be based in Dadaab Refugee Camp.

Monitoring & Evaluation Officer 

(Based in Dadaab Refugee Camp)
 

The M&E Officer is responsible for strengthening DRC Kenya’s capacity and profile in the area of documentation, monitoring and evaluation by providing M&E technical support and training to staff.

This position will be instrumental in promoting improved program results and cross-learning within DRC’s thematic areas. 

The incumbent will participate actively in ensuring the organization’s overall program quality and reporting for results.
 
Key responsibilities include:
  • Contribute in proposal development and assist program managers in the formulation of baseline measures and targets
  • Provide the technical support for conducting assessments through developing designs, data collection methodologies and research protocol
  • Responsible for establishing and monitoring key performance indicators (KPI) to report and record physical progress for running programs
  • Support the integration and implementation of accountability systems that are compliant with Humanitarian Accountability Partnership (HAP) Benchmarks, and other relevant quality standards
  • Ensure the smooth integration of program quality and promote a culture of lesson learning between programs by continually sharing information reports within the country program
  • Training staff on M&E principles, practices, methodologies and tools; training communities on community based monitoring and evaluation methodologies
Qualifications, Experience & Skills Required:
  • Degree in Social Sciences such as Development Studies, Economics, Statistics, Project Management, or other relevant fields.
  • Minimum 3-years’ experience in a senior programmatic position in monitoring and evaluation of humanitarian and development programs.
  • Knowledge and experience in participatory approaches and tools for program design, planning, monitoring and evaluation.
  • Good knowledge of programme cycle management and development
  • Excellent organizational, analytical and writing skills; cultural sensitivity and respect for diversity.
Please note that the above position is on a 1-year contract with possibility of extension.
