Mater Hospital Jobs in Nairobi & Thika, Kenya


The Mater Hospital, a leading Health Care Provider in the region is seeking to fill the following positions:

Reporting to the Registrar, Accident and Emergency the;

Senior Medical Officers 

(Nairobi & Thika Clinics)

Will be responsible for the effective management and care of patients, work with a team of medical officers, interns and paramedics to ensure optimal delivery of clinical care to patients, handle emergencies, assist with the running of the specialized clinics as assigned from time to time, participate in continuous medical education programmes and disaster management.

Key Requirements:
  • Bachelors of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery.
  • Must be registered with the KMP&DB.
  • Trained in BLS, ACLS, ATLS or PALS/EPLS.
  • At least 3 years working experience in similar position in a busy facility.
  • Computer literate, excellent PR and communication skills, ability to work under pressure and to make clinical decisions.
Medical Officers

Will manage, stabilize and treat patients, provide clinical support including admission, discharge or referral as necessary, undertake clinical procedures at A&E, Wards and Clinics and do ICU rotation.

Key Requirements:
  • Bachelors of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery.
  • Must be registered with the KMP&DB.
  • Trained in BLS, ACLS and ATLS.
  • At least 2 years working experience in a busy facility.
  • Computer literate, excellent PR and communication skills, ability to work under pressure and to make clinical decisions.
Project Accountant:

Reporting to the Comprehensive Care Clinic Project Coordinator the successful candidate’s main responsibilities will be to:
  • Provide financial management and administrative support of project accounts.
  • Monitor day to day financial transactions, ensuring expenditure is authorized within budget and correctly captured in the system.
  • Prepare financial and expenditure reports on a regular basis
  • Ensure timely submission of all narrative and financial reports for donors
  • Support the review and improvement of the financial system, policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with donors requirements in relation to project accounting
  • Prepare debtors payments ensuring all supporting documents are attached to each payment before approval.
  • Foster good relations with donors, partners, contacts and staff as it relates to implementation and management of project finances.
  • Assist in preparation of budgets and ensure approval and allocation is done timely.
Qualifications and Skills

The ideal candidate should posses the following.
  • A minimum of three (3) years working experience in similar position
  • Degree in Accounting or Finance Administration, Project Management or related discipline. CPA II qualifications will be an added advantage
  • Diplomatic and a collaborative team player
  • Good analytical skills, strong interpersonal skills, ability to negotiate, excellent oral and written skills
