County Government of Kisumu County Symbols Designs Competition

Invitation to Participate in the Competition for Designs of County Symbols for the County Government of Kisumu
 
The Office of the Governor, Kisumu, wishes to develop the County Symbols for the County through competition by creative and innovative artists and designers. 

This is pursuant to the County Government Act No. 17 of 2012 section 4 which stipulates that each County shall have the said symbols through public participation.
 
The symbols are:
 
1. County Flag
 
2. County Coat of Arms
 
3. County Seal
 
The features in the symbols should be unique to the Kisumu County and must capture the diversity and Social economic potential of the County which should include but not limited to:
  • Tourism (potential around Lake Victoria Shores, and surrounding areas)
  • County Unit in Diversity
  • Agriculture (Farming including sugar cane, rice, livestock and poultry keeping)
  • Cultural Activities (Including sports, designs and performing arts).
  • Urban development and education
The designs presented will be subjected to Public Views after which the winning designs will be adopted. 

The prices will be awarded for the best ranked designs for each categories as follows:
  • 1st prize Kshs. 100,000.00
  • 2nd Prize Kshs. 50,000.00
  • 3rd Prize Kshs. 25,000.00
The designs will become the property of County Government of Kisumu.
