with some of the poorest and most marginalised communities in Africa, Asia and
Latin America, often in very difficult environments.
Programme Manager, REACH Project
The Programme Manager will responsible for managing REalising maternal And Child Health rights in difficult environments (REACH) Project, a cross-border initiative that covers Dollo Woreda, Ethiopia and Mandera District, Kenya.
The REACH programme aims at improved health outcomes for
pastoralist mothers and children in Ethiopia and Kenya towards the achievement
of MCH related Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
Through strengthening the capacity of local partners it aims at
facilitating MCH service delivery, information and advocacy for to pastoralists
living along the border in Dollo Ado District in Ethiopia and Mandera West and
Mandera Central districts in Kenya
The post holder, answerable to the Area Program Manager (APM), will provide overall management of the Ethiopia–Kenya Cross border REACH Programme, represent HPA in the promotion of excellent relationships with other stakeholders and maintain good internal communications both with the APM and the central HPA office in London, the two local partners and with project staff.
We want hear from you if you have at least 5 years experience as a health and/or development manager, preferably in Sub-Saharan Africa;

you have significant proven development programmes experience with
governments, INGO, NGOs, related to health;
- if
you have proven skills in Project Cycle Management; have excellent
communication skills - with an ability to communicate with tact and
diplomacy and to manage conflict;
- if
you are committed to working with marginalized communities, and you are
fluent in English.
