The Sports Stadia Management Board is a parastatal whose mandate is to manage and maintain sports facilities, market the facilities for maximum utilization and generate revenue.
Job Description
The Chief Executive Officer will be responsible to the Board for the day to day management and administration of the Board.
The duties of the CEO will be as stipulated below;
- To
be the Secretary to the Board;
- Developing
and recommending to the Board the long term strategy, business plans, and
annual operating budgets and establishing proper internal monitoring and
control systems and procedures;
- Coordinating
and preparing business related proposals, reports and other submissions
for consideration by the Board;
- Administration
of all the resources and activities of the Board;
- Formulating,
implementing and monitoring Board development policy, legislation and
regulations;
- Facilitate
compliance with internal and external regulatory agencies on guidelines
for sports facilities, and marketing of sports facilities;
- Ensuring
continuous improvements in the quality and value of sports facilities
provided by the Board;
- Ensuring
continuous achievement of the Board’s financial and operating goals
objectives;
- Acting
as the principal spokesperson of the Board;
- Development,
implementation and monitoring of Board’s annual performance contract.
Requirements for appointment
For appointment to this position, a candidate must have: -
- A
Bachelors Degree in Social Sciences, Engineering, Commerce, Law,
Economics, Business Administration or Sports related degree from a
recognized university;
- A
Masters Degree in a related discipline from a recognized university. In
addition a higher degree would be an added advantage;
- Relevant
work experience of ten (10) years in Management, five (5) of which must be
at a senior managerial level in a reputable organization and has
demonstrated a high degree of professional competence;
- Demonstrated
administrative capability required for formulation of policies, good
interpersonal relations, high leadership qualities and integrity.
