Centre Manager and Social Worker Jobs in Kenya – Ruiru Rehabilitation Centre

The Ruiru Rehabilitation Centre (RRC) is a Kenyan non-governmental organization providing  shelter, care and  rehabilitation to over 50 children and youth between the ages of 8 – 18 in Ruiru.
The RRC Board wishes to recruit highly motivated and experienced persons for the positions of:
1. Centre Manager
2. Housefather/Social Worker
Both positions are expected to reside at the Centre 3-4 nights/week on a rotating basis.
Centre Manager
Qualifications:
·         Degree in social sciences or equivalent with a minimum of 7 years managing experience in an established children’s organization;
·         Thorough knowledge of child protection, rehabilitation laws and policy and track record of implementation and liaison with relevant Kenyan authorities;
·         Experience with fundraising, budgeting and management of funds;
·         Excellent managerial, fundraising , leadership and organizational skills;
·         Excellent oral and written English;
·         Mature Kenyan citizen with proven record of good conduct.
Main responsibilities include:
·         supervision of staff, team management, planning and organisation of work;
·         counseling of children and youth with backgrounds including abuse;
·         liaising with Kenyan authorities in charge of children’s issues;
·         socio-economic assessments and home visits of children’s guardians;
·         budgeting, record keeping and regular reporting;
·         international, national and community fundraising;
·         institution development;
Housefather/Social Worker
Qualifications:
·         Degree or diploma in social work;
·         At least two years experience working in a children’s institution in a similar position;
·         Proven interest in children’s well-being;
·         Active in sports, creative arts and culture;
·         Good communication and  interpersonal skills;
·         Honest, reliable and trustworthy Kenyan citizen.
Main responsibilities include: Care for boys; development of leisure schedule for all children; maintenance of Centre; working with volunteers.
