Kerio Valley Development Authority (KVDA) is a state corporation established by an Act of Parliament Cap 441 of 1979 of the laws of Kenya.

It was set to plan and coordinate the implementation of programmes and projects that transcend administrative boundaries of the districts in North Western part of Kenya.

The Authority wishes to re-advertise the following positions of Chief Managers:-

Chief Manager/Technical Services & Operations

Job Descriptions
  • Reports to the Managing Director
  • Provides technical direction for the development, design and system integration for service engagement from definition phase through to implementation
  • Applies significant knowledge of industry trends and developments to improve service of the Authority
  • Review work of development teams
  • Recognize system deficiencies and implements effective solutions for Agricultural Engineering, Mining and Environmental activities
  • Manages technical resources within budget and projects schedule
  • Consistently delivers high-quality services to the Authority and/or clients
  • Capability to coordinate the technical services of the Authority to offer efficient services
Qualification and Experience
  • A degree in Agricultural Engineering, Civil Engineering or other related fields from a recognized university
  • Must have served in a senior management position for at least 5 years
  • Demonstrate clear understanding of the role of regional development in Kenya’s social economic development and particularly in line with vision 2030
  • Must be registered with the relevant professional bodies
  • Computer literate
  • A master’s degree in the relevant field is an added advantage
  • Should be above 35 years of age
Chief Manager/Business Development and Investment Promotion

Job description
  • Reports to the Managing Director
  • Identify and develop business plans for the Authority’s operations and services
  • Prepares the Annual Investment and Business Development plans
  • Has ability to mobilize investment resources from other sources inside and outside Government structures
  • Develop and implement strategies for new products and services
  • Determine new opportunities by analyzing business needs
  • Provide direction, guidance to the department to ensure alignment with the Authority’s strategies in line with Vision 2030
  • Translate regional proposal into business plans
  • Pro-actively search for target organizations and establish communications with those businesses that can benefit all stakeholders
  • Develop and manage marketing tools and collateral for existing and new clients
  • Implement business models so as to create new ventures
  • Liaise with donor agencies
  • Develop suitable community projects and translate them into viable business ventures
Qualification and experience
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business administration, international relations, commerce or related discipline from a recognized university
  • Must have served for 5 years in a senior management position in related area of specialization
  • Master’s degree majoring in strategic management with a bias on investment will be an added advantage
  • Proven ability and experience in resource mobilization, entrepreneurship networking and linkages with development partner organizations
  • Team player with good communication skills
  • Computer literate
  • Should be above 35 years of age
An attractive remuneration package commensurate with responsibility of the job and experience of the individual will be offered to the right candidates.
