Under the overall guidance and supervision of the Country Programme Manager, the Assistant Finance Officer ensures effective and transparent utilization of financial resources and integrity of financial services.
The Assistant Finance Officer promotes a collaborative client-oriented approach consistent with UN Women rules and regulations. S/he analyzes and interprets the financial rules and regulations and provides solutions to a wide spectrum of complex financial issues.
The Assistant Finance Officer works in close collaboration with the project teams in the Country Programme Office (CPO), DIM Women staff in HQ and Sub-Regional office, UNDP Finance staff in the country, Government and civil society partners ensuring CPO performance in Finance.
Description of Responsibilities
·         Ensures implementation of operational strategies and adapts processes and procedures to ensure maintenance of internal controls.
·         Ensures the tracking and of development and management projects’ budgets and scrutiny of expenditure with UN Women project personnel.
·         Ensure proper control of CPO expenditure accounts
·         Ensures proper CPO cash management
·         Ensures facilitation of knowledge building and sharing in the CO
·         Ensures compliance with UN Women procurement rules and regulations from finance perspective
The key results have an impact on the overall CPO efficiency in financial resources management and success in introduction and implementation of operational strategies.
Accurate, thoroughly researched and documented financial information, timely and appropriate delivery of services ensure Partners’ and management satisfaction and enhance UN Women’s credibility in use of financial resources.
