NSE Investor Relations & Communications Manager Job in Kenya

The Nairobi Stock Exchange (NSE) plays a key role in the economy by raising capital for businesses, mobilizing savings for investment, redistributing wealth, improving corporate governance and creating investment opportunities for small investors.

In line with its mission of providing a world class trading facility for wealth creation, the Exchange is seeking to recruit an exceptional professional to fill the position of 
Manager, Investor Relations & Communications.

Roles and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Head of Market & Product Development, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Planning, designing and implementing the communications strategy aimed at advancing the mission and objectives of the NSE.
  • Planning, developing and implementing lobby and advocacy programmes to influence legislative and regulatory affairs as well as public decision makers on issues of public interest aimed at improving the securities market industry.
  • Maintaining regular contact with media representatives and stakeholders to promote good public relations for NSE and in addition, promptly respond to requests for information from the media, other stakeholders and the general public.
  • Overseeing the management of the Complaints Handling Unit (CHU) and the Information Centre.
  • Planning and organising workshops, seminars, conferences, exhibitions and road shows designed to create awareness and sensitise stakeholders including the general public.
  • Overseeing Public Education and Training including Securities Industry Training Institute (SITI) programmes.
  • Coordinating the design and production of NSE Educational and Promotional materials.
  • Managing the investor relations component of the NSE as a corporate entity.
  • Managing the NSE Corporate Social Responsibility function.
Qualifications and skills
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Communications, Business Administration or similar fields from a reputable university; a Masters degree will be an added advantage.
  • Working knowledge of the Exchange’s products and services.
  • Minimum five (5) years of relevant experience in a senior position in a marketing department or equivalent.
  • Effective customer service, strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills and ability to write reports.
  • Proficiency in computer applications including desktop publishing, financial and statistical packages and research programmes.
  • Demonstrated ability to keep abreast of evolving trends in marketing through continuing professional education.
