National Marketing and Sales Manager Job in Nairobi – Metropolitan Life Insurance

The above exciting and challenging position is currently available in Metropolitan Life Insurance Kenya, based in Nairobi


To strategise, co-ordinate, execute and manage all marketing and sales activities of Metropolitan Life Insurance Kenya and in so doing meeting premium income, profitability and market share objectives of the company.

Main functions of the position:
·       Execute the Strategic Marketing Business Plan of the company
·       Reviewing and developing the future Strategic Marketing Business Plan for the company

·       Determine most suitable strategic locations of new and established regional offices;
·       Develop marketing opportunities and build strong relationships through networking with brokers/corporate clients/union leaders;
·       Review product requirements and initiate new product requirements based on the needs of the clients and potential clients in Kenya
·       Manage and control sponsorships, advertising and social responsibility programmes for Metropolitan Life Insurance Kenya;
·       Manage, initiate and control production (sales) and Marketing and Sales manpower budgets of Metropolitan Life Insurance Kenya;
·       Manage all sales activities and related key performance indicators i.e. viability, conservation, finances, cancellations and new business (corporate and retail);
·       Manage the Human Resources (recruitment, training and development, compensation and rewards) aspects for Metropolitan Life Insurance Kenya’s sales management and agents;
·       Ensure that the quality of sales staff appointments remains within the framework of the minimum requirements;
·       Display above average skills to lead and manage the Marketing and Sales team and provide a clear vision for the team.
·       Proven 5 years sales track record in the Life Insurance industry
·       Relevant Marketing/Commerce Degree will be an advantage;
·       At least 5 years experience at management level;
·       Thorough understanding of Life Insurance products, principals and sales techniques;
·       Good analytical skills;
·       Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills;
·       The ability to work under pressure to meet objectives;
·       Self-motivated, productive, innovative and results driven;
·       Proven interpersonal, leadership and business skill;
·       High initiative, entrepreneurial ability and independence
·       Ability to network and negotiate at all levels;
·       Ability to motivate a sales team to meet its objectives;
·       A person of high integrity and ethical behaviour is a key requirement
·       Computer literacy (MS Office package)
