Scripture Union of Kenya Jobs: National Director and General Manager

Scripture Union of Kenya is an inter-denominational Christian organization that works with churches. The mission is to nurture children and youth, strengthen family life and help people engage with God through His word. The vision is to see children and young people following Jesus, filled with hope and transforming their communities.

To meet the Christian literature needs of the general population, Scripture Union of Kenya has established bookshops under the name; Scripture Union Christian Book Centre which operates six bookshops.

The bookshops are located in Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, Nakuru and Eldoret.

Scripture Union of Kenya seeks to fill the following positions.
National Director
Reporting to the National Executive Board, the key responsibilities entail:
  • Providing strategic leadership and management in order to achieve the mission and vision of Scripture Union of Kenya.
  • Formulating and implementation of policies, procedures and systems in conjunction with the National Executive Board.
  • Fund development for the ministry, including liaising with both local and international donors
  • Developing strategic alliances and partnerships for the organization.
  • Representing SU to the church and general public in the country and internationally.
Qualifications:
  • A mature Christian, with experience in leadership and management of not less than 5 years with a degree from recognized university and theological training.
  • A demonstrable understanding of financial management, ICT use and a post graduate qualification will be an added advantage.
General Manager

Serving under the SUCBC, the key responsibilities include:
  • Responsible for all bookshops operations, including management of human, financial and physical resources.
  • Liaising with suppliers, printers, publishers and other stakeholders to meet the literature needs of the people of Kenya and beyond.
  • Promote Christian literature in Kenya and the region.
Qualifications

We are looking for a mature Christian with a degree in Business related area from a recognized university and a minimum experience of 5 years in a similar business environment.
