Safaricom Limited Business Intelligence Manager Job Vacancy in Kenya

We are pleased to announce the following vacancy within the Corporate Affairs Division.

In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below:
Business Intelligence Manager

Reporting to the Senior Manager — Corporate Strategy, the job holder will support the company in maintaining market leadership by consistently monitoring industry activities of strategic interest; reviewing the operating environment for opportunities and/or threats; advising the business through timely and factual reports; and reviewing with the business, implementation of recommended action plans.
The job holder’s key responsibilities will be to:

  • Conduct in depth research and identify strategically significant market changes and their impact to the business;
  • Develop deep market and sector knowledge so as to provide thought leadership on business intelligence;
  • Benchmark Safaricom with other regional and international operators through continuous environmental scanning and reporting;
  • Understand and advise the business about the contextual environment with an emphasis on the regulatory and technological environment;
  • Provide input and expertise to the strategy formulation and implementation process;
  • Carry out any ad hoc market assignments.
The ideal candidate should possess the following skills and competencies:
  • Bachelor of Commerce, Economics, or a Business related degree from a recognized university;
  • A Post Graduate degree in Business Management will be an added advantage;
  • At least 5 years experience in strategic planning, market research and or financial planning environment;
  • Working experience in strategy formulation and implementation will be an added advantage;
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office applications is a must;
  • Demonstrable commercial acumen;
  • Ability to establish credibility at all levels;
  • Ability to influence internal customers with or without direct authority;
  • Good problem solving, analytical and decision making skills;
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills;
  • High level of initiative and self-drive; a team player.
