The Multimedia University College of Kenya was established by the Kenya Government under Legal Notice Number 155 of 2008 as a Constituent College of Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT). The successor to the Kenya College of Communications Technology (KCCT).

The University College aims at becoming a regional leader in the discovery, preservation and dissemination of knowledge in the areas on Information and Communications Technology and related academic disciplines.

University College Library



1. University Librarian

Applicants must have a PhD in Library or Information Sciences plus at least five years experience or be holders of Masters degree in Library or Information Sciences or its equivalent with at least eight years post-qualification working experience in a well-established library at an institution of higher learning.

In addition, applicants must provide evidence of professional leadership, managerial skills and creativity.

Directorate of ICT Services

1. University Librarian

Applicants must be holders of a PhD Degree in either Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Telecommunications Systems or a related qualification in ICT.

In addition, the applicant must have at least 3 years technical experience and managerial experience in a busy ICT environment.

Those with Masters Degree in the relevant field with at least five (5) years relevant work experience may also be considered.

Professional qualifications in ICT such as CISCO networking, Oracle /SOL administration and UNIX based operating system certification will be an added advantage.

Faculty of Engineering

2. Professor

Applicants must have a PhD plus at least three years of teaching experience at university as associate professor in any of the following fields: Communications Engineering, Electronics, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronic Engineering.

In addition the candidate must have published at least three papers in refereed journals or three university level books in his/her area of specialization since last appointment as associate professor. He/She should have supervised postgraduate students and demonstrated good academic leadership ability and proven ability to attract
 research funding.

The successful candidate will be expected to provide academic leadership in the faculty by teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate students in his/her area of specialization, servise postgraduate students, and carry out research.

3. Associate Professor

He/She should have demonstrated good leadership ability and proven ability to attract research funding.

5. Lecturer

Terms of Service

Appointments will be offered on permanent and pension able terms subject to successful completion of probation. In special cases, appointments on contract terms will be granted.
