Role Purpose:
As
the Director of Data and Analytics, you will lead the Group’s data governance,
engineering, analytics, and data science enablement function. You will execute
a comprehensive data strategy, build, and lead a high-performance data team,
design and maintain a robust data infrastructure. Your responsibilities will
also include enabling advanced analytics for strategic decision-making and
ensuring data privacy and compliance. You will be responsible for building a
data stack and enable our teams to explore product and financial data for
self-serve analytics purposes. It is the responsibility of the Director of Data
and Analytics to build a focused data team covering data governance, data
engineering, data analytics, and data science (including the enablement of
Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence models), with effective
cross-functional collaboration with the Business and Information
Technology teams.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive data
strategy aligned with the Equity Group’s business objectives.
- Oversee data management, warehousing,
integration, and migration; business intelligence; analytics;
quality and delivery across advisory and technical projects.
- Designing and maintaining a robust data
infrastructure to enable building data products as well as company-wide
analytics and reporting.
- Leveraging advanced analytics tools to
derive meaningful insights that drive strategic decision-making.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams
to understand data needs and align product development, analytics, data
science, and Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence efforts with
business goals.
- Ensuring data privacy and compliance with
relevant regulations.
- Staying up to date with industry
trends and emerging technologies, incorporating innovations into Equity
Group’s data practices.
- Develop Machine Learning and
deep learning algorithms that help teams to improve their predictive
capabilities significantly.
- Develop data models and
roadmaps that improve processes and add strategic value to the
business.
- Champion a data-driven culture by
fostering collaboration between data teams and business units.
- Lead the recruitment, development, and
management of a talented data team (data analysts, data scientists, data
engineers).
- Partner with key stakeholders across the
organization to identify business needs and translate them into actionable
insights.
- Develop and implement data governance
policies and procedures to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security.
- Build and maintain relationships with key
vendors and partners in the data ecosystem.
- Track and measure the success of data
initiatives through key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Communicate complex data concepts and
findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science,
Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field.
- Master’s degree in computer science,
Finance & Banking MIS, or Information Management, operations
management
- Excellent knowledge of Information
Science, Data, Data Systems and Processes.
- Excellent Project Management, analytical,
problem solving and reporting skills
- A good knowledge of the information
requirements and standard reporting within Financial Services industry
- Minimum 12 years’ work experience, with
over 5 years working in a senior level Data Management role.
- Vast experience in building and leading
data science organization or practices as well as successful experience in
advocating for data analytics value across a business and to diverse
audiences.
- Proven track record of leading and
building high-performing data teams.
- Strong understanding of data governance
best practices and data security principles.
- Experience developing and
implementing a data strategy.
- Experience working with a variety of data
tools and technologies (e.g., data warehouses, data lakes, business
intelligence tools).
- A keen understanding of business needs
and the ability to translate data insights into actionable strategies.
