Finance Officer

KEPROBA GRADE 6 – V/NO. 13/2023 

Job Specification 
The duties and responsibilities of the officer will entail: –

Assist in preparing payment vouchers for suppliers;

Assist in processing imprests and travel advances for staff;

Assist in supervision of cash collections and banking balancing and reconciling cashbooks on daily basis including balancing and reconciling cash books on daily basis;

Assist verifying posting of payments and receipts in the cashbook for accuracy;

Assist in providing safe custody of payment vouchers and approved journals;

Assist in preparing and updating creditor, debtors and general ledgers;

Assist in ensuring statutory deductions are remitted on time;

Assist in generation of sales invoices for approvals;

Assist in verification of amount billed as per relevant regulation;

Assist in facilitating prompt delivery of sales invoices;

Assist in debt collection and follow up in liaison with relevant department/officers;

Assist in responding to debtor queries;

Person Specifications 



For appointment to this grade, an officer must have at least: –

Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Business Management, Business Administration (Accounting or Finance option) or other relevant and equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Associate of Certified Chartered Accountant (ACCA);

Membership in good standing of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) or any other recognized professional body;

Proficiency in computer applications; and

Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution

Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC Clearance)

Directorate of Criminal Investigations (Certificate of Good conduct)

Certificate from an approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
