People & Culture Business Partner

Major Responsibilities

People and Culture Policy and Compliance

  • Provide guidance and interpretation of P & C policies to the Regional Managers, Program Managers and all staff in the designated areas.
  • In liaison with the Regional, Cluster and Project Managers, coordinate employee performance-related and disciplinary processes to ensure adherence to internal policies

Talent Management

  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition team to identify, acquire, assess, and hire candidates to fill open positions at the national office level.
  • Support the organization’s employee life cycle strategy implementation; Acquisition, On boarding, Engagement Development, Retention, and Off boarding

People and Culture Information System and Employee Records management

  • Facilitate new starters to complete and forward to National Office all their duly signed employment records.
  • Liaise with the P & C Administration Officer in creation of personal files for all new starters and ensure that all documentation are in order
  • Capacity-build staff & managers on use of Workday including implementation of new modules
  • Maintain and update Workday on any employee changes/movements
  • Analyze regional absence requests on a monthly basis and alert managers on pending approvals
  • Support people managers to ensure adherence to annual leave plans
  • Carry out data clean up at regular intervals to ensure data consistency

Performance Management  

  • Co-ordinate and conduct orientation of the new staff recruited at the Region and program level.
  • Ensure staff are enrolled into WVK Systems eg payroll, WV central and WVK Staff benefits and understand the related processes
  • Facilitate probation reviews and confirmation of staff within acceptable and set timelines
  • Support and build the capacity of the managers on performance management and respond to related queries
  • Liaise with the people managers in the regions to ensure timely implementation of performance management cycle including performance planning, reviews and appraisals.

Staff Learning and Development


  • Communicate people and culture policies as well as processes and procedures, ensuring compliance with employment law and alignment with global best practices.
  • Support staff to undertake learning and development initiatives to build capacity and for staff enhanced competence.
  • Organize in liaison with Programs in team building initiatives
  • Stewarding staff compliance to World Vision’s Code of Conduct and Safeguarding policies.

People & Culture reports and Metrics

  • Prepare and submit of Monthly reports for information and update
  • Provide oversight for Staff Master data management and leverage the Workday Information system to generate useful HR analytics for reporting and decision-making.
  • Conduct periodical Program visits for P&C related support

Collaboration & Networks

  • Coordinate and participate in roll out and implementation of P & C initiatives
  • Participate in committees and task forces, as assigned

Others

  • Support in the roll out and implementation of P&C initiatives at the regional level
  • Provide support in the preparation for HR audits and subsequent action plans while safeguarding employee data in line with WV compliance & Data privacy standards
  • Support the HR shared service process standardization and improvement by providing continuous feedback.

Qualifications,Skills and Knowledge

  • Minimum of a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or any relevant Social Sciences
  • Professional Qualification in Human Resources Management (Higher National Diploma, CHRP, SHRM)
  • Experience with relevant Human Resource Information Systems e.g Workday, Our People, Salesforce, or any relevant HRIS
  • Proficiency in Computer Applications (Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite)
  • Minimum of a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or any relevant Social Sciences
  • Professional Qualification in Human Resources Management (Higher National Diploma, CHRP, SHRM)
  • Experience with relevant Human Resource Information Systems e.g Workday, Our People, Salesforce, or any relevant HRIS
  • Proficiency in Computer Applications (Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite)
  • Must be an active member of a recognized human resources professional body with appropriate Certificate of Practice
  • Keen analytical, organization, and problem-solving skills that support and enable sound decision-making.
  • Proven strength in building and sustaining supportive relationships and persuasively communicating institutional goals and needs.
  • Effective Communication: Develops and delivers multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences
  • Travel domestically and internationally up to 50 % or as may be required
