Location: Segera, Laikipia County

Reporting to: HOD F&B Service

Goals and Objectives

The Bartender is responsible for the servicing of all drinks and food items to a set standard and as requested by guests.

He will act as host to the guests with his ultimate goal being the guests’ satisfaction.


The bartender must have knowledge of all specialty drinks requested by the guests and maintain stock records and control behind the bar as well as the maintenance of all bar and dining assets.

The bartender will work closely with other staff members within all service areas.

He must have knowledge to maintain all bar/dining equipments.

Duties and Responsibilities:

·  To understand standards as set and to maintain and execute them as documented

·  To host guests in a hospitable and professional manner

·  To ensure guests are greeted and looked after from the moment they arrive in all areas of operation, the Pool Bar, Stables or Paddock House.

·  To ensure guests understand all drinks we offer, an explanation of our unique cocktails and our reserve and inclusive wine lists.

·  To ensure guests understand all foods we offer, an explanation of our unique menu concept and our alternative offers.

·  To assist guests in wine cellar and play a part in the wine offering and experience, as per the agreed standards of operation, convey with knowledge wines we have on offer.

·  To ensure bar daily records are filled in correctly and a sufficient handover of stock given between shifts, ensuring constant and sufficient stock levels.

·  To report any stock discrepancies to the HOD F&B Service & Tourism Manager as soon as they are noticed.

·  To ensure main bar, dining area, pool area and wine cellar kept clean at all times.

·  To ensure accurate stock takes are recorded as and when required by management.

·  To ensure care is taken of all assets and breakages are recorded and reported to the
management.

·  To assist in setting picnics, sunset drinks or other events /experiences in various locations.

·  To be responsible for keys to main bar and all associated stores and the locking of these at
all times.

·  To update guest dietary and beverage information board.

·  To implement the maintenance program as advised by HOD House Keeping and HOD
Technical Services.

·  When not required in above duties to assist staff as and where needed.

·  Training other staff members on any new drinks in the bar.

·  To act on any reasonable request given by HOD F&B Service or Tourism Manager

The ideal candidate must have the following minimum qualifications:-

·  Relevant training certificate from a recognized institution

·  Proven working experience as a Bartender

·  Excellent knowledge of mixing and serving drinks/coffee.

·  Computer literacy

·  Positive attitude and excellent communication skills

·  Ability to keep the bar organized, stocked and clean

·  Impeccable customer service and social perceptiveness

·  Ability to evaluate customer satisfaction and responsiveness

·  Ability to enforce company policies regarding alcohol consumption.

·  Physical ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
