Insurance Assistant

The Sacco seeks an Insurance expert with the overall responsibility of among others executing the Society’s long-term vision and strategy, drafting of policies, development of business plans and company budgets. Reporting to the Chief Manager Business Development, the job holder will be responsible for:
Responsibilities

  • Growing the Society’s revenue base through Insurance brokerage fees and commissions among others;
  • Implementing strategies, policies and standards relating to Insurance function in line with the Society objectives;
  • Promoting the function’s responsibilities focusing on developing Society plans, objectives, strategies, policies, norms and procedures;
  • Providing Insurance cover for assets, human resources and potential legal liabilities of the Society;
  • Administering Insurance policies including monitoring of claims and recoveries;
  • Providing advice on Insurance matters as required;
  • Keeping the Society abreast of emerging issues in the Insurance field;
  • Negotiating Insurance disputes with customers and other parties with a view to settling them out of court;
  • Creating Insurance awareness among the Society staff;
  • Facilitating settlements of Insurance claims through Insurance brokers;
Qualifications 
  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution.
  • Diploma in Insurance management from a recognized institution will be an added advantage
  • Registered with the Chartered Institute of Insurance or other relevant professional
  • Three (3) years’ experience in the Insurance industry with extensive knowledge of marketing
  • Sound knowledge of the Insurance products and services and IRA
  • High levels of professionalism, honest with impeccable integrity (high ethical standards).
  • Good management ability with capacity to grow, support and develop talent within the Society.
  • Demonstrable business acumen and excellent communication, social and presentation skills.

DEBT RECOVERY ASSISTANT-3 POSITIONS
Reporting to the credit control officer, the assistant debt recovery officer is responsible for monitoring loans, analyzing accounts in default/arrears and recommending the appropriate action plan for recovery, collection of loans, negotiating loan payment, restructuring and handling of enquiries.
Responsibilities
  • Monitoring of Branch loan portfolio performance and ensuring compliance to the society’s policy and regulatory
  • Carrying out remedial measures and active recoveries on delinquent loans
  • Communicating and issuing default notices as per policy
  • Initiating recovery processes on delinquent loans
  • Offering financial counsel and remedial actions to delinquent facilities
  • Advising on payment plans and restructuring options
  • Responsible for defaulter loans attachment, recovery and guarantor management
  • Responsible for generation and submission of defaulter list for CRB listing and delisting
  • Liaising with external debt collectors on loan recoveries
  • Liaising with head office Credit Control on realisation of assets and attachment of loans to guarantors

Qualifications

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT-2 POSITIONS
Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Administrative Assistant will be responsible for administrative duties of the Branch and shall be expected to offer professional services to internal and external customers of the Society.
 Responsibilities
  • Organizing management and Branch committee meetings at the Branch
  • Handling corporate visitors
  • Managing correspondence at the Branch
  • Being in charge of administrative and secretarial roles at the Branch
  • Ensuring proper housekeeping at the Branch premises recommending areas for repairs and coordinating the process
  • Ensuring safe custody of Society documents, statutory and assets at the Branch
  • Liaising with head office registry for document repatriation and being responsible for tabulation and record keeping for documents sent to head office
  • Assisting in coordination of staff welfare activities including team building and other team activities
  • Ensuring prompt settlement of all utility and other bills whose payment is based at the Branches.
  • Ensuring smooth running of all out sourced administrative services.
  • Monitoring and coordinating the Branch staff leave plan
  • Ensuring general compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements affecting the Sacco at the Branch including but not limited to all OSH requirements at Branch level and advising the Branch manager

Marketing Officer

Job Summary
 Reporting to the Branch Manager, the job holder will be responsible for the management of the sales force and business development and marketing.
Responsibilities
  • Conducting marketing activities so as to deliver products and services that satisfy the market segments served by the Society
  • Designing, preparing and disseminating relevant corporate information to members through appropriate media
  • Designing and developing products and services that will satisfy various market segments based on market research findings
  • Identifying market niches and crafting appropriate strategies for reaching existing and potential members
  • Identifying target markets and potential ones and designing ways to consistently communicate the brand and products in all marketing activities.
Qualifications 
  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution.

Check Off Assistant

Job Summary
 Reporting to the Shared Services Manager, the job holder will be responsible for the following:
Responsibilities
  • Variance analysis of all check off remittances
  • Follow up with check off companies to manage the variances
  • Monthly reporting on check off receipts in respect of deposits, share capital and loans
  • Follow up on funds expected from check off companies
  • Advising and posting of check off for various companies.
  • Continuous updating and reconciliation of the receivable account.
  • Attend to any other duties that may be allocated
  • Reconciliation of the check off receivable account.
  • Clearing of check off outstanding amounts.
  • Follow up on funds from check off companies
  • Receiving check off cheques and schedules from Branches and Customer experience department.
  • Effecting members’ deduction change advise.
  • Recording cheques in the cheques received register, daily banking and distributing the schedules accordingly
  • Attend to any other duties that you may be allocated.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors’ degree from a recognized institution.
  • Professional: CPA II or equivalent required;
  • Minimum two (2) years relevant experience at an equivalent position in a financial institution.

Network Administrator

Job Summary
Reporting to the Head of ICT, the Network Administrator will be responsible for managing the Society’s network and communication infrastructure. Day-to-day management of Wide Area Network and Local Area Network. Managing network devices including but not limited to firewalls, switches, routers, and wireless devices.
Responsibilities
  • Drafting of network policy and procedures
  • Monitoring network performance (availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency) and test for weaknesses
  • Maintaining detailed inventories identifying equipment, location, purpose and maintenance schedules.
  • Installing, configuring, and testing of network
  • Protecting network equipment against security attacks through proper application of firewalls, anti-virus, malware and any intrusion or exploit detection and prevention tools and protocols
  • Backing up of all network configurations

  • Effecting Network upgrades, apply revisions to host system firmware and software

PROCUREMENT ASSISTANT- 1 POSITION
 Job Summary
Reporting to the Procurement Officer, this position will be responsible for:
 Responsibilities
  • Vetting of purchase requisitions raised by user departments and ensuring that purchases do not exceed approved budget provisions
  • Obtain proper technical specifications from user departments for use in the tendering process.
  • Receiving and inspecting of stock and non-stock items and issuing inspection certificate as appropriate.
  • Ensuring that procurement procedures are properly documented, records and procurement and disposal files maintained in a secure location
  • Issuing bidding documents to bidders and keeping records as necessary
  • Coordinate receiving and opening of tenders and request for quotations and the preparation of tender opening minutes and tender evaluation reports as necessary

ICT SUPPORT ASSISTANT-2 POSITIONS
Job Summary
Reporting to the Assistant System Administrator, the ICT Support Assistant will be responsible for providing first line help desk support to Stima DT Sacco Employees and users who have partnered with the Society.
Responsibilities
  • Providing first line technical support, answering support queries via phone, email and in person
  • Support users in the use of computer equipment, MS Dynamics and Office applications
  • Initiating user rights changes or system set ups as per request.
  • Participating in testing of applications
  • Installing and configuring computer hardware, operating systems and applications.
  • Carrying out routine software and hardware maintenance
  • Servicing and fixing ICT equipment.
  • Troubleshooting system and network problems, diagnosing and resolving software/hardware
  • Liaising with ICT staff and help in establishing ICT user support knowledge
  • Tracking work in progress, recording issues and solutions.
  • Assisting the Head of ICT with the implementation of Society projects as required.
 Qualifications

Working hours, patterns and environment
40 hours a week. In some cases you may have to work shifts, including evenings and weekends. You’ll work in an office and will spend most of your time at a computer.

Job Summary
Reporting to the Head of ICT, the job holder will be responsible for managing and administering multiple MS SQL database systems including back -up, performance tuning, capacity planning, monitoring critical events and documentation
Responsibilities
  • Managing SQL Server databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production
  • Configuring and maintaining database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and ensure high levels of performance
  • Developing strategies and implementing solutions for managing back-ups, restoration and replication
  • Implementing strategies for database high availability and scalability and will with project teams to ensure a smooth deployment of new services and
